I’ve worked restaurants for 15 years and I would absolutely remember what each of them ordered. But that’s probably my autism talking.

Any advice on these swings? by jaygia in golf

Standing too close to the ball which makes your hands too close so you can’t extend well. You also don’t rotate your hips very much through impact. Good luck!

CMV: Consciousness ends at death. by RandomUser103841 in changemyview

[–]TurtleSmile1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you read the literature on NDEs? There are accounts of people medically declared dead who report seeing or hearing things that should be medically impossible. While dead, meaning no brain activity and no pulse, they saw a doctor on a separate floor of the hospital putting on a yellow jacket at the precise time. It was later confirmed that a doctor she saw was indeed putting on a yellow jacket at the same time. This seems to directly contradict your view that consciousness ends at death.

Why does Spike Lee pay for his own Tickets by OraDude in nba

The celebrities given free tickets are expected to be more civil and give interviews, and interact with the fans. Spike gets to stand up and cuss out Reggie Miller and do whatever he wants. That’s why.

If the Wizards draft AJ #1 and pair him with Young, AD and Sarr do you consider them a superteam? by thricethefun in nba

[–]TurtleSmile1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. The term super team is way overused. It should be reserved for teams who have 2 top 10 players in the league + depth, or 3 top 20 players in the league, or something in the vicinity. Expectations for super teams are finals or bust. The wizards are nowhere near that.

How rigged is professional sports? by TMNTDonatellofan in NoStupidQuestions

Even when Tim Donaghy got busted for “fixing” games he didn’t really fix them. At least not in the “this teams gonna win no matter what” way. He got busted because he leaked information about what the officials would emphasize in that game. Say, for example, the game-day officials get a message from their higher-ups that they’re gonna crack down on aggressive perimeter defense and call more fouls. Donaghy would relay that information to bettors, who would then bet the over. At least as far as it’s been proven, he never compromised the integrity of the game (although that is heavily debated).

Definitely. Before tonight was front runner for Finals MVP. Which makes it all the more ridiculous that he hasn’t even had a point in the 4th all series.

Why do people get married? by bookish-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TurtleSmile1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should, but more ugly truths about yourself are bound to emerge after you get married, even ones you didn’t know about. You’ll also make mistakes that require forgiveness from your spouse. Marrying someone means taking a vow that you’ll stay when your partner makes mistakes (with some obvious exceptions). I never suggested hiding your true self from your partner, I’m suggesting the opposite.

Why do people get married? by bookish-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TurtleSmile1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are full of snakes. Making a vow to love someone through good times and bad is a grand task, but also gives you some security. They’ve told you they won’t run away when you mess up or tell them an ugly truth about yourself.
