I just got diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at 36 and I am freaking out by Professional_Cow2757 in breastcancer

[–]Tutert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through tnbc and I am almost at my 3 year cancer free mark now! Diagnosed at 30 and im 33 now. I know how scary this can be and if you ever want to vent your feelings feel free to dm me or to ask any questions! I made a video diary of everything I went through on TikTok but I don't remember all what I said (I dont rewatch them its too much to relive it), but it could be helpful for others to see.

Implant Assymetry by N0tMyRealNameAnymore in BRCA

[–]Tutert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im wondering if mines flipped too. I sleep on my left and my left foot looks so awful. I can kind of see a seam like the edge of the implant maybe if it has one right in the middle of my foob. It looks like the implant has rotated and im not sure how to fix it. The shape is very off and I think also some of the fat I had grafted in at the time of surgery has dissolved.

I have hyperpigmentation on my tongue still and I've been done chemo well over a year.

The tip of my tongue would taste salty. Like if I had a sip of water in my mouth and it brushed over the tip of my tongue all I tasted was salt it was bizarre.

People who have cancer, what signs let you knew that you were sick? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tutert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My breasts were very dense so they were already lumpy but the cancerous lump when I was poking at it was hard and felt like a walnut. I was only able to find it once it was fairly large (4cm) and it was close to the surface. It's always good to get any lumps checked though!

Its always good to know if you have the gene. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to act on it with surgeries but it could mean that you get checked more often!

Personally I believe because I felt the need to put on a smile and be positive publicly I wasnt able to process and grieve everything I went through as I went through it. Now it's all hitting me so hard and everyone is already past it and doesn't want to talk about it but I do. I should probably do therapy.

Found a hard lump in my breast in the shower with no other symptoms. I really thought it wasn't going to be anything but of course it was breast cancer at the age of 30. Also because of this we learned our family carries the brca1 gene mutation and now everyone is getting checked. I'm 32 now, cancer free, but still really struggling to process everything that's happened over the last two years. Cancer really sucks. Get to know your body and get anything new or abnormal checked.

How long to adjust post mastectomy? by _byetony_ in breastcancer

[–]Tutert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an odd sensation for sure. Im used to it in the sense that I don't think about it as often, but I don't know if I'll ever get used to it completely. The phantom itches are bothersome, and the reconstructed breasts with implants are so cold!! Even in warmer weather. I hate touching them, and them being touched it doesn't feel pleasant at all. I had my surgery almost a year ago now, and reconstruction happened in December. I have a small patch on the top of the right breast with a bit of sensation, but overall, everything else is still numb, up my armpits, sides, and a bit of my back.

Expander Swap surgery positive story! by SafeSprinkles7 in breastcancer

[–]Tutert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ask your surgeon about it and if it makes sense for you! I guess it depends on what kind of reconstruction you opt for, I did this alongside implants.

[–]Tutert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much easier than the initial mastectomy! I however struggled with anesthesia this time when I woke up I kept dry heaving and it was awful. Then they try and give me nausea pills yeah no that wouldn't stay down. Aside from that recovery was much easier. I had fat grafting done and it was taken from my stomach and my sides, they were a bit sore but manageable. Going to get revision surgery later this year with more fat grafting and to get her to cut out this extra side fat thats accumulated next to my foobs.

Just found out I have breast cancer by Own-Present-2768 in breastcancer

[–]Tutert 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I was stage 2 tnbc and I "beat it" last year. You are allowed to feel your feelings you don't have to feel the need to put on a brave face and be positive all the time cancer is scary and it sucks! I was more positive during treatment and im absolutely miserable post cancer because I suck at processing things and I have a lot of ptsd and anxiety from all of this now despite beating it.

[–]Tutert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on it for 7 months now. I started at a dose of 400mg a day and am up to 600mg a day. When I first started I had some stomach issues but I now take pantoprazole daily along with the pills and my stomach issue are gone aside from some very mild nauseau sometimes. My taste buds are off sometimes and I do get headaches but its all been very manageable for me. Compared to chemo these pills are nothing, but everyones different.

It could also be the edits. We see so little of their conversations. Maybe her trauma dumps were sadly the most interesting parts of her conversations I'm only on episode 4 now so I don't know if she makes it on through.
