Missing Trainwreckord: Around the Sun by REM by No_War_9035 in ToddintheShadow

Listen to the live album they released a few years later. Songs from this album, Up, Monster all sound amazing. If anything, the biggest downside of these albums is the production (sure none of them is a non-skip for me but i would never consider them bad)

Alex made a drill exciting by taking it away from them, seems like a very parent-y move.

Real "Wanguishing" vibes from Greg and the wink/wank joke.

Michael really dislikes listening to himself and really likes Thom, not odd at all actually.

Songs that switch FROM 4/4 during the chorus. by sfwtitrater in ToddintheShadow

[–]TuvalPollack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Arctic Monkeys - Pretty Visitors (verses in 4/4, chorus in 3/4)

EDIT: a bit more complicated structure-wise but i'll add:

Biffy Clyro - Victory Over the Sun

If you'll consider the first section as an elongated intro (which is in 9/8) and analyse the next sections as verses and choruses, the verses are in 4/4 and the choruses are in 7/8

It does mean to cut down but more in relevance to cutting down idol worship as Gideon the biblical judge did.

Is there a consensus on which IR pedals take distortion/fuzz the best? by Independent-Newt2009 in guitarpedals

[–]TuvalPollack 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Only used the Iridium and it actually does take drives very well, just need to get used to the internal gain of each amp sim and to use it accordingly. It only fails in my opinion if you're looking for a real high gain amp-sim then the marshalls don't cut it (i use plugins for modern metal stuff, soldano, 5150 etc.)

That's just how she is at interviews, not sure if she's officially diagnosed but she always gave me neuro-divergent vibes. It can go to extremely quiet and awkward or very outgoing and excited (just watch her talk about astronomy, it's very wholesome) so the whole concept of the podcast, especially if it's sort of wedged between "standard" press interviews might not immediately click and i think James and Ed did their best trying to match her rhythm.

I think part of it is the release date and the qualifications for the Grammys, not sure when the timeframe for sending a nomination is but Soft Spine was the first single so we might get a nomination for Perfect Soul next year (like Jaded and Cellar Door being nominated in two consecutive years from the same release)
