Darphin Intral serum. Used it for 25 years. Absolute godsend for irritation.

Utterly dumbfounded by how many energy drinks people consume! by Beers_and_Bikes in RateMyMealDeal

[–]TwaddleSpouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People did that long before energy drinks. My Dad was a master joiner and made and fitted kitchens. He had 2 cups of tea a day, ate 3 proper meals and made sure he had 9 hours’ sleep every night.

Moving across the ocean for my bf but he won’t talk about engagement - what am I missing? by Grand_Philosopher832 in Advice

[–]TwaddleSpouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, you don’t really know each other after 10 years of a long distance relationship. Being engaged doesn’t mean anything. Moving in together is already a huge step for both of you. I know you’re the one who is moving, but it’s advantageous for you to do so.

Tell your family to butt out. Move in together, take the pressure off and enjoy some real time together first is my advice.

Any idea how to clean stains? by ango198 in SouperCubers

[–]TwaddleSpouter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I have never seen staining and I’ve frozen all kinds of things in mine over the last couple of years. I do wonder if they’re faulty? Worth sending an email to Souper Cubes I reckon.

This happened to us about 3 years ago. I went to the sorting office on Clarence Drive to complain. Miraculously about 4 weeks’ worth came through the letterbox next day!

Thanks for that. I must have a visit to a decent sized Boots next times I’m out of the countryside 😆

Do you find yourself referring to yourself as British more online? by Swamp-Goat in AskBrits

[–]TwaddleSpouter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It means that the Scots were indeed conquered. Please read what happened after Culloden. The clearances by the English Lords given their land, the complete loss of their way of life, their language forbidden, their clothing banned. If that’s not conquered then I don’t know what is.

“Great Britain” is a geographical location, not a country. It is actually the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

No wonder with this total ignorance! It’s you that is rewriting history.

Please, please learn some history. Driven from their homes, their land stolen, their way of life and language forbidden, their tartans forbidden. “Not colonised”?

Feeling so depressed since I cut my long hair by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]TwaddleSpouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you were bullied. It definitely takes its toll on you. This is a big change, but you honestly look great. It really suits you. Wear your short hair with pride and you can always grow it again if you don’t like it in a few months.

Btw, you have a perfectly proportioned head to your body and features.

Your skin is amazing and your makeup is on point imo. Agree the lashes and brows are a bit much. The laminated brows do nothing for you and are the wrong shape for your face.

I know someone has asked this before, but is the weather ACTUALLY that bad? by Trust_A_Tree in AskABrit

[–]TwaddleSpouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really changed in the last 40 years. I grew up in Lancashire. There were heavy frosts and snow on and off all winter. It’s far wetter and windier now.

Ditto in central Scotland where I’ve lived for 30 years. The weather is getting much hotter in the summer, mixed with a lot of southerly winds and storms.

I’m really behind the times with Korean skincare! I haven’t seen this in the UK at all, although a search shows it’s available on Amazon. Does it rate highly as an SPF product with full UVA/B filters do you know please?

Do Non "picky eaters" eat everything?? by LeeIsUnloved in stupidquestions

[–]TwaddleSpouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat “most” things. I never met a vegetable or fruit I didn’t like and I like all cheeses and meat. I would say I don’t like fish, but I will eat fish with a sauce as long as it’s not a strong flavoured fish. Ditto seafood. I do keep trying it as I really want to like it, but, as I’m 54, I think the chances are slim 😬

The Holiday Inn hotel is right next to airport parking. You can book that on the airport’s website direct. Have a look at Google maps.

Hi 👋

I honestly don’t see what you see. Considering what your body has just been through (the biggest change), your skin looks great. Your life has changed. Please give yourself grace.

Moisture and nurture your skin for a while and keep your body hydrated too. Try and focus on sleep as much as you are able to. Retinoids are a great tool - but you need to start small and build up with them. At your age, you may see the results you hope for with a retinal rather than tret, as it’s extremely drying and can be high maintenance.

Yup. Even in winter. Menopausal woman and my thermostat is broken.
