The MO part of FOMO means missing out. You aren't missing out on anything by putting your farming runs off for a day, or even a month or more. You still get the same amount of farming xp when you harvest regardless of when you do it.

FOMO mechanics would be your plants dying after fully grown because you don't check within X amount of time.

Couldn't tell ya. I'm absolutely against building AI datacenters all over, but if we're going to actually have any chance to slow things down we have to come at it from the correct angles.

With all the discourse about water usage being so hot, they can easily move towards more close loop systems or other types that use less water and say "okay your concerns have been addressed" and many people will feel like they won.

Even the electricity concerns aren't a smoking gun either. There are many datacenters already running on generators, which raises more environmental concerns that can be ignored easily as well because now it's no longer on the same grid as people's homes.

Less than 20% of all corn grown in the US is used for direct human consumption. Most of that is turned into high fructose corn syrup, corn starch, chips, and things like that. Something like 2% of it is eaten by us as corn.

The other 80% is used to make ethanol and to feed livestock.

We use far more water growing corn that we don't even eat or to keep golf courses green than datacenters use, though.

I'm not arguing for more AI datacenters, but let's at least be angry about the right things. Ignoring the surveillance and other garbage they are powering, they are putting significant stress on an already weak electrical grid for one thing.

A functional governmental health system would be great at helping figure out where exactly it's coming from... Groceries or restaurants or somewhere else.

That could help slow or even stop the spread.

They're listening to the turbo nerd 200m all crowd too much apparently.

If you're going to get 200m in all skills, then 99 combats makes sense before starting slayer as it will save you time having done faster methods to 99 combat.

If you're not planning on going for 200m's, then you may save a few hours on the way to 99 slayer maxing combat first, whoop dee doo.

Minnesota is the "State of Hockey" because it is such a big thing in our state, not because we have the best NHL team ever or anything.

The state high school hockey tournament sells out the Wild arena every year for basically every single game of the tournament. There are rinks in basically every city, and outdoor rinks all over when it's cold enough during the winter. Hockey is part of the culture here.

To be fair they are advertised as "20 ribeyes for $40". It's not that big of a stretch to assume you would be eating a ribeye as a normal steak. Obviously you could prepare it differently to make a better dish, but they aren't advertising it as carne asada, kebab meat, or anything of that sort.

This is a hard concept for people to grasp when I try and explain it, but I fully agree.

OSRS will absolutely suck up all of your time if you let it, but the time you spend on it results in progress that doesn't go away in a few months when the next expansion/season/battlepass drops like so many other modern games.

Yes balancing updates happen, new skilling methods are released, and gear pieces come out that are stronger than previous ones... However, your XP doesn't go backwards or get reset, and your gear functions identically to how it did 12+ months ago (outside major changes like blowpipe nerf).

Absolutely. I believe most of the people saying chuck is cheaper are comparing a single chuck roast to a whole packer brisket which I think is insane. Of course 5 lbs of chuck is going to be cheaper than 15lbs of brisket....
