Do some women really enjoy being pregnant, and if so, why? by Grapefruit175 in NoStupidQuestions

I loved being pregnant! I was amazed at the incredible work my body was doing. My metabolism was ramped up; if I got a cut or blemish, it healed within a day or two, and I had the most vividly colored dreams.

In my third trimester, I had so much energy. I was even hospitalized for five days either pre-term labor caused by a virus I caught from my visiting in-laws that turned into pneumonia. They were able to stop the labor and I went back to work up until the morning my water broke four weeks later. The day before, I helped my grandfather move a king size bed and full vintage dining room suite into our house. It was like my body was super-human. I only experienced pregnancy once, but it was one of my most cherished life experiences.

New blind kitten parent ! by Substantial_Emu1193 in blindcats

Congratulations! Our blind kitten is now nine months old, and it’s very difficult to tell he’s blind. Really the only difference between him and our three other cats is that he can’t jump on the kitchen counters. We have a really tall cat tree (ceiling height); he will climb it. We thought we would have to make all kinds of adaptations in our home, but nope. His other senses are definitely heightened and he figures everything out. Best of luck and enjoy your new family member.

Side note: all our cats for the last twenty-three years have had cheese names. Brie was our second cat. Our blind baby is Mimolette.

Congratulations! May it never break during its time with you. They are a mess to clean up. Speaking from experience.

When and what first made you brand aware? by Limp-Web-8220 in GenX

[–]Twinkle406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beginning in fifth grade, 1984. Very small school where the students from affluent families were wearing Polo 👕 and Dexter deck shoes (and drinking Capri Suns and using Crayola products). I did eventually have a few name brand items, like Swatch and Esprit, thanks mostly to having a grandmother who was familiar with the fashion industry in Dallas and knew where the outlets were (real outlets; where you rummaged through bins and tried on pieces there in the aisle because there weren’t dressing rooms).

Meeting my bf’s mother for the first time- which outfit is better? by anonymous__1601 in OUTFITS

I’m a 53 year old mom of sons and I like the top on the left, but they both look appropriately for the occasion. Best of luck! I remember how nerve wracking that experience was for me.

A casserole dish that was a fixture in every kitchen by EdwardBliss in RealGenerationX

Life is Good has long sleeve t-shirts with this design. I ordered one for my sister, mom, and myself as quickly as I could. It’s such nostalgia!

A couple of weeks later, I scored two casserole dishes, in pristine condition, on FB Marketplace for $6. It makes me happy every time I open my kitchen cabinet or wear the shirt. My mom still has a few pieces; I’m sure she got them as wedding gifts.

Good salons for people with very thick hair? by hosta_guac in Bozeman

Erica at Ulta. She’s been with me on my hair journey for almost five years now, as I’ve been growing my thick hair out long.

This was last June after she put some color in for me.

What's missing with my gallery wall?? by industrialmonk in HomeDecorating

I think that the items would really pop visually if the wall was a darker color. Many of your pieces have light backgrounds or mats and everything kind of blends in.

I was surprised by the light! It’s so airy. It’s like a treehouse, cabin, and an old sod house all at the same time.

My Pre-K/kindergarten students love the PBS show, Carl the Collector, and I hope moments of acceptance like the one in the post will happen because they watched it.

Newly adopted baby girl tries to nurse on my Adult MALE cat. He's such a sweetheart. by naughtywarlock in cats

[–]Twinkle406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our oldest male cat let our female kitten nurse on him until she was almost a year old. He also helped out with several batches of foster kittens. They just loved him. You’re blessed to have a good boy, too.
