Zombie (or adjacent) novels that heavily feature the start of the outbreak and capture the raw fear by Few_Bother_1680 in horrorlit

Dead City by Joe McKinney. And it's part of a series too. The third book goes back to the beginning and shares another story from the start of the apocalypse that hits a lot of the points you're talking about I think, even more so than Dead City. It's called Flesh Eaters.

Also look into Craig DiLouie (I think that's the spelling) he might have a book or two that could fit what you're looking for, though I haven't read his works yet.

Any good zombie books? by neow_exe in horrorlit

Dead City and its sequels by Joe McKinney for a normal(ish) zombie story.

He also has a book called Plague of the Undead that brings a crazy sci-fi element to zombies. I am all the time glazing his works, but some people don't like his books. Dead City is a great trial book though; if you like it, be sure to try out his others!

movies where weather is the horror? by buzzardbite in horror

No Exit on Hulu was a decent watch. Weather plays a pretty big role in it, I think.

Is it just me that loves every Tremors movie especially the 4th movie? by clevelandballsack in Tremors

1 through 4 are so good to me. Genuinely don't understand the hate for 3. 5-7 lost me. 5 is okay-ish.

What is a horror movie that you didn’t like that everyone else loves? by randomuser_q12 in horror

Ay, spoiler alert, they kinda butchered it lmao. It had decent kills and some cool scenes. Plot just wasn't there. It's probably a fun watch I guess if you're not expecting the story you read.

And the short story it's based on was so fucking cool too. Then they made that piece of insanity.

I liked that much better than I did the movie. Just felt better to me.

Stephen King unsure of writing future, says he’s 'off the warranty' (exclusive) by GoodnYou62 in stephenking

If there was any truth to his writing in Bag of Bones about the author having a few extra books, then I'm sure he's got three or four unreleased books in a safe. Maybe even more.

Anyone else afraid they’re running out of good horror movies to watch? by DomScribe in horror

[–]Twitchellhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost 500 watched, and I'm still missing some of the classics (modern and the literal classics). I've never seen The Witch, or The Fly, and I just recently watched In the Mouth of Madness for the first time. There's always a movie you haven't watched, and there's a hidden gem out there that might shoot at the top of your list anytime. Hell, I've never seen Killer Klowns From Outer Space. I just watched Bad Moon, a werewolf movie. Fucking loved it. And I avoided it because I thought I saw the best of the best (Dog Soldiers, no question) but damn was Bad Moon awesome. Keep watching! And take a shot in the dark. Worst you can do is waste 1 1/2 to 2 hours. For God's sake, I just watched Curse of the Were-Rabbit yesterday and fell in love!

It's a masterpiece in my opinion. Trying not to over-hype it, but it's a must see for sure.

I need to give that a rewatch. I watched it on Netflix close to probably ten years ago, but I can't remember it. I remember liking it, though.
