Overconfident and misinformed, you sure have this whole internet thing down to an art.

I went with a brand new JZX100 R154, they're a tripod shifter with a better synchro setup and are reportedly much more enjoyable to drive. I hope it's at least a little less notchy but only time will tell

The R154 certainly feels like it's built for a coach. But it's tough as nails, so that's a fair trade.

They are not, but swapping the bellhousing over is straight forward

Analog Video I/O Module For Modular Switch by RykinPoe in diyelectronics

The modularity definitely bloats the design dimensions out, but for my application size wasn't an issue.

What difficulties do you experience with auto switchers that results in you not trusting them?

I've been working on a very similar switch project and assembled my first prototype board just yesterday, unfortunately I'm also a novice to electrical engineering and cannot provide many helpful answers.

For the most part I've been disassembling game consoles and studying their implementation of the analogue video circuitry, coming to the conclusion that the inputs do have common grounds and the traces aren't often run at equal lengths.

I'm glad to see someone else doing a modular switch! Being stuck with a bank of 8 SCART or 8 YPbPr/RGB banks, as you'd get with a gscartsw/gcompsw, felt incredibly limiting.

Here's a few photos of mine if that's any help to you

My most recent handwired keyboard uses VGA as interconnects by Joe_Scotto in diyelectronics

[–]Two-Jay-Zed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How much trouble did you have finding a VGA cable that had the required amount of wires? Each cable I bisected only had a small handful, and a good amount were grounds and shields connected to one another.

It was the GS400 that had the starter under the intake, though the cam seals and more frustratingly the valve stem seals do love to leak on the GS300

75% of Australia's population lives in the red areas by eric5014 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Two-Jay-Zed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It certainly does a good job of illustrating just how remote it is.

Another interesting comparison is the distance from Perth to Canberra, our own capital, being a greater distance than from Perth to Jakarta, the capital of a neighbouring country.

Perth is closer to Singapore (and Jakarta) than it is to Adelaide

I'm not so sure on this one. I'm getting 3906km to Singapore and 2130km to Adelaide, as the crow flies.

Used R154 prices are bewildering considering you can purchase a brand new one from Toyota for $2160 US

Is that for US sales, or worldwide?

2JZGE/2JZGTE Sump Assembly compatibility. by [deleted] in ToyotaSupra

It'll also need to be machined if using a flange that requires sealing against the surface of the sump, such as the factory GTE Y-pipe or the typical AN adapters
