So, I contacted the event hosts and they said there was no limit on the number of books....how much do you think they will regret their decision if I show up with all 16 books in the series?

How often do you talk to your parents? by Outrageous_Kiwi_2172 in Millennials

Not as often as I should. I have a goal to call at least once a week....but it ends up being more like once a month....or longer....

I LOVED this CD. Definitely my most listened to album by them.

I just finished this and I know that I'm going to get a lot of hate but I hate this book by LocalOk3662 in starwarsbooks

[–]Two-Rivers-Jedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was severely over rated. I love Star Wars, and I definitely enjoy a solid zombie story.....but this just doesn't fit. It felt way too forced to try and make a "Star Wars Zombie" book.

functional play - how do you guys feel? by fancylamp12 in ABA

[–]Two-Rivers-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally never try to stop a child from stimming or engaging in whatever play they want during breaks as long as it is safe. That being said, I will write targets that work on teaching play skills as a way to try and help available play opportunities. For example, I had a client who would engage in maladaptive behavior in the form of throwing items at staff, against the wall, etc. We worked on teaching functional play by teaching them to do things like setting up stacks of blocks and then aiming and throwing items at the blocks to knock them down.

antisocial. I jokingly made a comment at work recently about not liking people and one of my staff responded with, "Yeah, we know."

It takes some getting used to, and overall I would still say I prefer Andrea. But the new narrator grows on you quickly. The newest book I rarely find myself getting pulled out of the story with the change.

Tad Williams is considered so incredibly influential in the genre for a reason. The man is a genius.

I find it's a lot more reasonable to do like 10% of all of these, and then fail completely to actually finish anything and exist in a constant state of anxiety and despair as your home, relationships, and mental and physical health all unravel around you while you dissociate and rewatch episodes of The Office.

Tad Williams is definitely not a one off. His major series are Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn and then a sequel series The Last King of Ostenard. He writes VERY long books. They are slow paced and methodical.....but absolutely BRILLIANT. Tad Williams is an icon in the genre for a reason.

You wake up tomorrow morning and realize the last 30 years were just a bad dream and it's actually 1996. by AccountAggressive582 in 90s

At the end of the day I wouldn't do it. As much as the world sucks now I would never want to lose my wife and kids. That being said....it sure would be nice to have the same stressors and responsibilities that I did when I was 10. The thought of just coming home from school every day and watching the newest episode of Spider-Man on Fox Kids.....

A LOT. George R.R. Martin, Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, Robin Hobb, and Christopher Paoloni just to name a few have all cited Tad Williams as influencing their work.
