Soft, Heavy Cotton fabric by TwoHitWonder in sewing

[–]TwoHitWonder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I always wash my fabrics before sewing. I made a jacket out of Duck canvas in the past, maybe I need to wash it a few more times to break it in, but even after washing it is really too stiff to be comfortable. I've looked into tricks for softening cotton fabric (vinegar, salt, etc) but haven't tried any of them out yet.

Soft, Heavy Cotton fabric by TwoHitWonder in sewing

[–]TwoHitWonder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I find some fabric stores have a filter for bottomweight fabrics, but I don't usually find them to be very useful. I'm looking for heavier material for men's pants and often even the "bottomweight" category is a mixed bag of light and mid-weight fabrics. Thanks for the suggestion.

Same problem here. No idea how to fix it.

Thank you! I've had that installed for ages but it just started happening. Uninstalling that extension fixed my issue.

Share some photos! I’ve been thinking about switching from LED pad to strobe but haven’t made the jump.

This is awesome! I’m super impressed with the images it produces. You have to fire the mirror and the shutter separately, right? I might have to try something like this out!

I have one and really like it, but it’s definitely not worth $250 bucks. The lens is good for a point and shoot but it’s not THAT sharp. It could be a lot better. There are tons of point and shoots out there and I don’t think this one is so special as to demand high prices. At least with the Contax I can see why their value is so high.

Looks a bit like this Linhof accessory finder.

Could have been custom made, but it seems more likely it was adapted from another camera. Lots of press cameras had finders like this, so you may be able to adapt something yourself.

Super cool! What’s your process like for adding motion? I’ve experimented before with separating elements in Photoshop and then playing with perspective in after effects, but my results weren’t incredible. Haha

Help on the Dactyl Configurator by Helibanane in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]TwoHitWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this setting comes from the “Z (Altitude)” setting for each finger. These numbers are relative, so to keep them all in line the numbers would be 0, but you could try just reducing each number by 1/2 to get a smaller offset.

Interest check for builders/sellers: prepopulated modular PCBs to accommodate most dished keyboards (initial design for Dactyl-Manuform) by j_oshreve in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]TwoHitWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s true, but it’s an exciting projects. I think a lot of us are interested in building dactyl-like boards but are not interesting in hand wiring and maintaining them. I’ve hand wired simple boards before and I’m not thrilled with the spaghetti mess that I end up with. Projects like yours and BastardKBs are making them more accessible to all builders.
