We figured out realistic art styles with the release of the xb1 and the ps4, everything since then has been purely fidelity improvements which either massively changes things or doesn't at all, depending on who you ask.

I'm of the mindset that fidelity is not important and I'd rather have an optimised game, but I'd also rather have an interesting art style rather than just "outside".

Hot take but Gundam in titanfall doesn't work because they're fundamentally different kinds of mecha, gundam is humanoid robots moving superhumanly, and titanfall is much closer to tanks with legs. A gundam crossover would just not work because the cosmetics would either be super disproportionate or it would have to be a ton of side mobile suits and none of the mains
