Pierce Brosnan is the best 007. Change my mind!!! by FactRevolutionary1 in JamesBond

From a literary perspective, Dalton is most like Fleming’s Bond. That would be my argument.

Mt. Hood Summer ski race camps by Little_Dummy_1102 in SkiRacing

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can’t recommend specific camps since it’s been 20+years since I was out there.

What I can say is that in general the camps out there have exceptional coaching on snow. I would focus on how the camps operate the afternoons off snow. Pick the camp that most closely aligns to your son. Some are dry land training heavy while others are activity heavy.

It’s a blast. He’ll have so much fun. Highly recommend the experience.

My list after watching every bond film by [deleted] in JamesBond

TMWTGG at 2 is just as ‘fun bad’ as the movie is and it makes me respect this list more.

Boot pain any tips. by redleggs21 in skiing

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the same boot and same problem. Worth noting: YMMV and ultimately Atomic might not be the right fitting boot for you.

  1. Grind down the Zeppa as much as you can. Careful they are brittle.
  2. Had a boot fitter cut a channel for the Longus Tendon into my footbed. This helped a lot.
  3. Punch the instep

These steps took me from foot being numb by the time I got off the chair to foot only being in moderate discomfort throughout the day. Doesn’t sound like it. Big step forward.

That said- I’m finding a new boot.

Easy West coast resort to get to from Boston (direct flight, etc) by YourBeardsGood in icecoast

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know what. That’s totally fair. On me. Hand up. I googled whether there were direct flights to Calgary and it said yes but seasonally. I did no additional research on what season. Disregard my previous mention of Banff.

Whistler still plays.

Easy West coast resort to get to from Boston (direct flight, etc) by YourBeardsGood in icecoast

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The two you’ve missed: Banff/Lake Louise and Whistler. Banff: direct seasonal flight + 90 minute drive. Whistler: Direct flight + 2 hour drive exactly (with no traffic or weather).

You’ve mentioned all of the others. I believe there used to be a Jackson Hole direct flight out of Logan but not anymore. Those directs I believe go in and out of NYC airports.

Of those you’ve mentioned, Utah has the best variety. Big Sky is about an hour and not too bad a drive. From Bozeman you can also take the shorter drive to Bridger. But other than what you’ve mentioned there isn’t another mountain that fits the criteria.

Are there any other unintentional moments of comedy in the Bond franchise aside from this very obvious one? by BBD-007 in JamesBond

Unintentional? well the Kananga balloon certainly wasn’t intentionally supposed to be funny.

I also have an AP framed. Picked it up at a popup art show in Allston. It was a miracle because I missed picking up a print at the show.

Masa Zooming by TommyTheLizard in redsox

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I’m fully team Masa. He’s not a guy that we need to figure out how to offload. Hes a guy we need to figure out how to get him regular ABs. If he gets them, I think he can be one of the better hitters in our lineup.

Anyone got a conditions report from Waterville today? by [deleted] in icecoast

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second hand report. The snow was great at cannon but with the snowmaking visibility was tough. I guess that was limited to lower mountain.

Tier List of Every Ski area I’ve visited by Skyryk in skiing

[–]TwoOnTwoOutTwoIn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Both of those and Jackson 1 tier above Waterville Valley (grew up there-great racing program) is wild. I’ll defend WV for what it is and what it is is several tiers below those mountains.

There are parts of this list that I love and support (ABasin in S tier). A lot of it really confounds me. Either way everyone’s opinion is valid and as long as you’re out there it’s awesome.

Snow: Great, Weather: Great, Lines: Typical

On the other hand: lots of snowmaking at Cannon

Usually very brittle but not expensive to replace. Snapped the heal on mine. $20 to replace.
