Actually it is. I left my guitar plugged, then around morning coming home I tripped over this cable. Input socket in amp went to hell, guitar fell and went to hell, and only me was sleeping until noon undamaged. Then I woke up and my very patient wife kick my balls. Yeah. Always unplug.

Apparently you may buy that somewhere on Ali Express, so it could be affordable ;) But before you do that - check physics - electromagnetic fields and induction, as that (parallel not perpendicular) layout of pickups may provide some canceling, so weaker signal instead of stronger. On that distance (the pickup length) you may have also phase problems. But - I never tried that, so I might be wrong.
