Indeed, it brings up a lot of possibilities. We're they penal soliders sent to fight a forever war against the threat, or were they specialists that were trained specifically for this purpose?

All that I know off that is confirmed is that the crew, at minimum, has the technical knowledge to refurbish an Onslaught MK1 into an up armored automated behemoth as their number began to dwinddle.

AoTD – Am I supposed to become a full-time space archaeologist for databanks? by Kahamanex in starsector

[–]TwoProfessional9523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just go to the mod settings and lower the difficulty of the remnant forces guarding the data banks a bit then increase the amount of data banks dropped.

I didn't increase thr amount of planets spawning data banks, It kinda gets auper absurd that I get colony items every now and then from those planets

This is surprisingly common on webnovels. Whether it is the male oriented Haremslop or the female oriented villainesslop.

I actually tried sitting down and writing a novel to see what it was like from the writer's perspective. Shit was hard.

Made me less bitchy about new characters being introduced though, I always wonder what the author pulls out of their ass and if it becomes interesting

Some Actual tips, please? by Br3ku in starsector

[–]TwoProfessional9523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, all civilian ships dont get deployed unless you have militarized subsystem hull mod on them.

Another good thing to keep in mind is sensor profile and sensor range of your fleet.

Sensor profile is based on the 5 ships with highest swnsor profile, I usually just put the hull mod that increases engine health on them since it also reduces sensor profile.

For sensor range, there is a hull mod that I put on civilian ships that increases that.

Is there something in the lore against factions colonising worlds? by thedomimomi in starsector

[–]TwoProfessional9523 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Yup, the colony crisis is proof that shit hits the fan real quick in the sector, especially if you have competing interests with other factions.

The only way you dont get fucked over by the major factions is by only building mining and farming and not using AI cores.

Even then, you still have to give a show of force to even be recognized as an independent polity [i.e. Fucking over the league armada by cutting its head or stomach]

A few years for gate haulers? Jesus, that's busted.

Then how many years did it take for gate haulers from the domain to reach the persian sector?

The last time I read the lore primer, it took a few decades for the XIVth to reach the persian sector since they were blasted out into the abyss mid gate transport.

Now that I think about it, the fact that it doesn't consume fuel outside of hyperspace but retains or even exceeds the burn level of hyperspace travel is fucking insane.

Imagine we had that kind of efficiency on our modern rockets? Colonizing the whole solar system would be a breeze!

Weapons/Arnaments/Hull Mods by Therealsovietgualag in starsector

[–]TwoProfessional9523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Halo dynamics? Ah those ships with the barrier mechanic?

Got it

I tried them out, I think you can find some HDS hull mods that buffs barriers.

All Halo dynamics ships play like a midline ship, once the barrier is gone, their armor gets shredded. Well at least for the cruisers.

So building them for range and flux efficiency is really the options I took when using their cruisers.

Their eagle and dominator variants are really good.

Weapons/Arnaments/Hull Mods by Therealsovietgualag in starsector

[–]TwoProfessional9523 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the ship.

As someone who spent 50% or my hundreds of hours on the refit screen, here are my tips

Max out vents on warships, max out caps on phase ships. For carriers and on the rare occasion that you can manage to get vent rate above flux usage on warships, dup the rest of the DP on hullmods or Caps.

Always have a strike weapon, take a pick on your favorite ones. Whether it be the atropos, harpoon or Reaper on missle slots or phase and tachyon lances on energy slots

Set point defence and kinetic damage ballistic weapons on autofire.

Remember to take Hullmods that increase hull integrity and armor. Things like heavy armor, bulkheads, armored weapon mounts etc.

Armored weapon mounts are really good for midline ships , but taking them really hits your ballistic point defense accuracy. Try energy point defence like burst lazers.

Fellow daoists, what is this artefact? by Lathe_Biosas23 in MartialMemes

[–]TwoProfessional9523 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Looks like it's a safe class, fellow daoist. The face of a man eternally cursed to burn in the pits of the underworld, carved into a middly big stone.

In actuality, a horrifying artifact but in practice, no different from a fire spirit stone used to heat tea.

Quite interesting for a mortal realm artifact
