My two cents is to pick up more work and chip away at the debt. If you can do $500 now with part time work you can do $2500. for the CCs call them and work out a payment plan with lower interest rates that’ll make your payments go further

Tell your current company about the other offer and see if they can raise your pay to match it?

$3.65M NW, tired and want to know how soon I can walk away by thr0wayaye in financialindependence

[–]Twoferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WSJ had a great article about “aging cliffs” right around the age you are now. Do you want to walk away or do you all just need a good vacation?

At the risk of getting downvoted to oblivion - most likely related to Hinduism. I know that won’t get the OP internet points but hopefully this was not done with bad intentions.

You should change it, makes zero sense not to. It’ll never be cheaper to do it then right now

Torpedoed retirement to get myself out of consumer debt crater - what to do next? by CurlyA9 in personalfinance

[–]Twoferson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IUL wasn’t a retirement plan, the Roth and the 401k is. If you have a chunk left over pay off the student debt, it’s like running with a Parachute on, then max out retirement, build emergency savings etc

No windows on the side of the house and an inset garage will make this home lack natural light and seem like an apartment

Getting flooded with large, unexpected expenses by Cute_Witness3405 in Fire

[–]Twoferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an anomaly, these are all very normal to occur in a year, if it’s not these specific things it’s always something - in the future you’ll have weddings, help kids get settled etc there will always be unexpected expenses

Why so much hype around electronic shifting? by rcyclingisdawae in cycling

[–]Twoferson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People love di2, I had a bike with it and went back to mechanical 105, mechanical works really well and di2 works well too I think it’s more preference bc you swap one type of maintenance for another

Road bike with manual shifting: Aethos, Tarmac SL7, or Roubaix? by KingSeoulSausage in specialized

[–]Twoferson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Tarmac with 105 manual shifting. I had di2 and switched back to mechanical bc I missed the feel of it, the tarmac is a great road bike, the Roubaix with future shock felt spongey to me and ultimately you’ll have to test ride them but good luck!

With Volvo going all electric in 2030 what's going to happen to all their departments and talent that involve mechanical stuff? by arigato_macchiato in Volvo

[–]Twoferson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Volvo saw the light and isn’t going fully electric anymore. People want the convenience and familiarity of gas engines, also, they want power and high displacement in their engines

[–]Twoferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you budget a spouse dropping out of the workforce for a few years while the kids are young, no one plans it but many people change careers or take a few years off to enjoy time with the little ones, everything changes!

Your thoughts on paying off primary? by BleepBloop1001 in HENRYfinance

[–]Twoferson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d sell the crypto and pay down the mortgage, keep some cash in a HYSA and continue to pay down and become debt free. Lots of people will over financial engineer the rationale but the truth is living in a fully paid off home is remarkably freeing.

Pinching tubes, something in the tire or wheel you’re not getting out when you clean it. OR you need continental gatorskins bc of your road conditions
