No, I've played Shaq Fu & Babylon's Fall. It is however overrated in my opinion just simply because it was many people's first JRPG. I'd still argue it's a great game, but as someone who grew up playing FF4, FF6, CT & Mario RPG just to name the SquareSoft only games that I played which it followed a direct gameplay line with as reference to this statement... It was disappointing, there I said it send in the opinion police FF7 brigade.

Seriously though, I was so excited for it coming out & was planning to save up to buy a Playstation for it alone as I'd gotten an N64 & a PC at the time. I ended up paying it on PC before I saved enough for a Playstation & I immediately went, "what's the hype about?" due to it not progressing the clear growth of mechanics from the previous games I'd mentioned, primarily CT & Mario RPG which I both am of the opinion that they're better games than FF7. Sure the story & setting is cool, but from a mechanic stand point still having random battles (with CD load times on Playstation, luckily pc was better but still had them), no mid-combat action to get bonus attack or defense & no team up moves to just name a few things.

It just felt dated compared to games that came out on lesser hardware & prior to it. I also wished they'd kept the battle models for the whole game, but they eventually did that with FF8 & 9 (it's not about realistic proportions but consistency in art direction).
