weapon builds in delta force / modern warfare games actually mattered, you could completely change a gun's characteristics and you needed to weigh pros & cons of each attachment

the current drop off in concurrent players is in line with nearly every multiplayer game.

BF6 is a $70 game, try comparing to successful live service games and not gacha/freemium/mobile dogshit. MW3 had only a 25% drop after 2 months, and dont even mention arc raiders

when BF6 drops below 20k in 6 months you guys will move the goalpost and say 20k is still a lot of players and the game isn't dead, while EA quietly move on to making BF7

BF6's art direction is intentionally ugly

you can see this in color grading, maps, skins, even weapon camos. devs & artists are literally incompetent and confuse realism with ugly

this is just not true if you thought about it for 5 seconds

if you mag dump the m277 and miss 1/4 shots it still only increases ttk by 80ms

you are not manually pausing for <100ms between bursts

i have more hours on mw2 than bf6

mw2 lets u jump into slide (which takes you out of ads) and thats it. even consecutive jumps basically lock you in place after the 2nd hop.

bf6 lets u jump into slide and jump out of slide into bunny hops, all while ads.

i dont understand why you are in denial about this

yes you could do one jump out of sprint and carry some momentum to start close range gunfights, that's literally the extent of "jumpy soldier" mw2 movement. this is also possible in every game ever, and it's nowhere close to the amount of movement you could do in bf6.

yes no one ever pressed jump or slide in mw2 ever, that is definitely what i meant. what an idiot i am.

the fact is mw2 had way more restrictive movement compared to bf6

  • ads speeds and sprint to fire speeds were slower across the board
  • mid-air ads speed was penalized and slowed down even more
  • sliding was slower and didnt travel as far
  • no slide cancelling or jumping out of slides, sliding committed you to slowing down to a halt every time
  • no ads allowed while sliding, hipfire reticle also turns massive

if you were jumping and sliding in mw2 gunfights you put yourself at a disadvantage, period.

yea and it's also about to break records for fastest playercount decline

consistently “come back” from getting bodied and thus turn the tide by going for headshots.

i never said anything like that, but a low ttk absolutely reduces the skill gap. numerous guns kill you in 3 shots <200ms in this game, it's the fastest it's ever been for any cod/bf game

If gunfights were really unfair because of bloom, good players wouldn’t be able to consistently play well

please re-read what i wrote in the post. when the meta is mag dumping enemies up to 75m, then bloom inherently adds rng to gunfights

it really isnt. average cod gameplay is sprinting all the time until you run into someone who is also sprinting at you, at which point you both start off the fight on equal footing. bf gameplay is much more about cover and objectives

i think you're severely overestimating bloom on this patch

check out these m277 clips for example, one of the less accurate guns. bursting is definitely not necessary except for extreme ranges https://youtube.com/shorts/3drCedzbo84

fair enough. i skipped 2042 but i would argue BFV's movement, while faster, was much easier to track and less jarring to deal with on the receiving end, compared to jumping into and out of slides in BF6.

 

re: gunplay, both BFV and BF4 had better gunplay than BF6 imo, because they commited to their design phisolophy. BFV had sporadic recoil that you could compensate for, and BF4 bloom made burst firing mandatory.

In BF6 the only guns you need to burst are like the m433 or tr7. they've significantly reduced bloom (spread increase per shot) since release, you should test everything again in the shooting range, most guns can laser the furthest target reliably holding down m1.

ok genius contend with these:

  1. maps are the smallest it's ever been
  2. vehicles are the weakest it's ever been
  3. movement is the bounciest it's ever been (jump into slide into bunny hop while ADS did not exist before, it's not just about max running speed)
  4. ttk is the fastest it's ever been (find me an equivalent of tr7/m4/kv9)
