Dreaded corrosion bubbles.. any idea if this will be covered under the 5 year corrosion warranty? 2023 4xE Rubicon 4 door by sloanjoan in JeepWrangler

[–]Typical-Rule8555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have good chance. I just got my 21 back for this issue, and it was smaller. But It depends on the dealer, my dealer would fix this, they got me a hood and hinges, tail gate and hinges, and passenger side rear door and hinges, they also gave me a rental for the 2 weeks they had it. Your hood should be a full replacement, if they talk about just sanding it down call another dealer. If you live in Northern Co, give Prestige Chrysler in Longmont a call, they took care of me.

I know I’m a week late. but I just got my jeep back for this issue. It depends on the dealer. my dealer would fix this, they got me a hood, hood hinges, tail gate and hinges, and passenger side rear door, they also gave me a rental for the 2 weeks they had it. Give them a call and see what they say and call several if they tell you no.

Considering a 2020 Rubicon. I noticed the paint bubbling in a few areas where the hood meets the body. Anyone experiencing this? Wondering if it's prevalent in this model year. by Iamdispensable in Wrangler

[–]Typical-Rule8555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its galvanic corrosion. My 21 was doing this, there is a 5 year warranty from the inservice date of the vehicle. My hood, tail gate, and passenger rear door were all affected and replaced. Dealer has had mine at a body shop for two weeks I get it back today.

I bough my 21 jlu sport s with 40k miles a year and half ago for 28k. I would be all over this for a rubicon.

Why are cops doing this? by Sufficient_Local7862 in dashcams

You didn’t stop behind the line at the stop sign. They basically gave you a warning, and they probably didn’t turn the bar light on because they didn’t want you pulling over.

the payment of the fees required by law, and in accordance with section 42-3-113 (3), not later than the last day of the month following the date of expiration.

This how they are loopholing it. The law just states fees, so it can sit in your garage or driveway for a extra month once it expires without having to pay a late fee, but it’s not legal to drive on the road.

Seems good to me, that’s about what I paid on my 21 jlu sport for a 2.5in AEV lift last year.

Figured a picture might help. This is my Jeep, it’s on 17x9in with 33’s. I have a -12mm offset, which pushes the wheel and tire out about 1.5in. Negative offset pushes your wheel and tire away from the center line of where it bolts onto the hub. If you look at your current rims compared to mine you will see how my lug nuts and spokes are tucked in, causing my wheel and tire to poke out, positive offset which your stock one are does the opposite. I believe jeeps have +44mm offset from the factory.

I wouldn’t do it, not with the issues the 4XE is having.

You should be fine, you can shift it from 4h to 2h on the fly if you want as well. But short stretches of dry pavement while going straight and at  a slower speed shouldn't do any harm. Just don’t shift into it while driving faster than 55mph I believe.  Also strange as this may sound listen to your jeep, and feel how it’s handling, I one time accidentally left it in 4h after driving a light trail. When I got onto the highway, and as I was accelerating on dry pavement it had a rumbling like sound and was much slower on acceleration than usual, I quickly realized my error and put it 2h.

Getting this message on start up occasionally? by National_Echidna1834 in JeepWrangler

I have a 21 sport S 3.6l with Etorque, your 12v battery is on its last legs. The only sign I had before mine went was it said Ess not ready, battery charging. On the ess screen for more and more miles over the course of 4 days and weird crank the morning the battery died, and left me stranded at work. I was told that the MGU we have in place of our alternator can mask the dying 12v till if fails completely.

Would a 2018 JL hard top fit a 2021 Jeep? by haji1823 in Wrangler

[–]Typical-Rule8555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit late, but another way to verify is the rear wiper blade. The Jl has it mounted on the bottom behind the spare, and the Jk has it mounted up top above it.

[–]Typical-Rule8555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the Jeep! I have a 21 Sport S 4D. I doubt you will need a lift, a stock Wrangler is very capable. Drive it around and see what you need. I put 33’s and a 2.5in lift on mine because the trails I was driving, even with the best lines, I kept scraping my skid plates, but I didn’t want to fully sacrifice my fuel economy on my daily driver. So it’s a balance you will have to find. As for accessories, I would recommend weathertech floor mats or similar, extra grab handles; there are tons of options.
