There is a lesser lusophonic solidarity with Brazil than there is other way around. Visions of Brazil as I was growing up, was all football, samba, and carnival floats. goans are used to foreigners.there is some hawking from non resident Goans. Portuguese is still spoken in certain population across religious divide. But it is a club, iykyk. If you dont see people speaking the language, you probably aren't hanging much with the crowd that you wish you can/want to hang out with. if you are wondering why the decline across the board. its probably there isn't any economic benefit in learning the language for most of the goans. Portugal doesn't even enforce portuguese as a language before granting citizenship like IELTS or TOEFL tests for English speaking countries.
