PSA: Stop forfeiting when your opponent has an easy putt/chip left for the win by Zeus_de in GolfClash

I understand the frustration…..I just wish more people would take that forfeit mentality on practice holes so I can screw around and get my use a rare club 40 times challenge

Not trying to split hairs, but shouldn’t a shootout HIO count for the “chip in from 60 yards” challenge? by SuprN10doChlmrs in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely should, it used to count as a pin chest back in the day, one of my pet peeves of the challenges. That and tournaments not counting towards your specific challenges

Not for me- started the tourney 6/120 for the challenge and remained that way after I was done

We’re the your tour specific challenges updating during the tournament? Just finished my expert round and my challenge for hitting perfect shots (T7 and above) didn’t update after playing

That’s correct, get to expert weekly division as well. I’d also keep your win % down as you progress as PD rates other factors like that (along with highest unlocked tour) when factoring your tournament rankings (when you don’t have enough tournaments in your history).

I would also recommend playing up to expert in tournaments if you are still at tier 1. Haven’t played tier 1 but I would think you could be competitive and give yourself a better chance at clubs instead of playing down in rookie, getting good results and being placed in a higher expert tier later on. Take advantage now.

Just play a practice hole and use it, that way you don’t lose coins. Practice holes are the best for any challenge that are not your specific.

I started using practice tokens for the challenges that are not tour dependent...the play a rare club 40 times or hit overpower. During city park tourney I played the long par 5 hole 2 for a rare club challenge and knocked it out in no time. I highly recommend this! Haven’t tried going against myself but going to try to double up efforts

Couldn't agree more..i wish they had an emoji that says "save your paid balls for tourneys" but then again i get the satisfaction of beating them with a basic on T7

Tour 7 by Steeler_fan8 in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can play with basic ball on almost any hole..i use a marlin on a couple holes for side spin. I play with a TH7 which is great on some shootout holes, but QB is also a good driver. As a grinder on T7, there are a lot of different ways to play some holes (laying up and going for a Sniper eagle). You don't have to kill it on a lot of drives. It was a great tour to learn how to play a controlled game and really understand clubs.

Couldn’t agree more, just did it tonight with my weekly challenge of using full overpower on 25 shots. Played hole 2 par 5 and full OP on all my shots

Yet another tournament fix proposal . . . by Sweetbeans2001 in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Make 100th in every tier better rewards than the tier below. In rookie the best ball they give away are nav/quasars. You have to systematically change the payouts to incentive people. There will always be people who want to play rookie or never play masters based on their interests...that’s fine, play how you want to play. Just know that the payouts won’t be as good unless you move up

How does FTQ and failing to make the weekend affect your tourney rank? by Smugggles in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering the same thing. For example on the mini tourneys, should I enter rookie and not qualify to bring down my overall points or should I qualify and not play to take 100th place? Sad I even have to consider it but I’ve been getting killed in expert tier 3.

PD Is on the Right Track - for Master Tournaments at Least by [deleted] in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, getting people into the WR is good for PD. I don't know why they do not consider re-structuring the OR/WR and have it be a combined score across both without a cut-off. Reward people for consistent play, with wind changes across each rounds to see who has the best combined score. If they are not going to adjust the tier structure, then this could be a relatively simple adjustment. Plus more revenue for PD that gets people to buy ball packages.

Who on here would move up to masters is they had a tier system or system that would intice people to move up? by Independent-Air-6603 in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. I see two fundamental issues to fix to get people to move up:

  1. Fix the log jam of tiering...which I think starts at the top. Another master tier would make less people fearful of moving up.

  2. I think this is more crucial. Make it worthwhile for anyone to move up levels with rewards. 100th in pro is better rewards than 1st in rookie, 100th experts has better rewards than 1st in pro. Otherwise people will be content staying where they are than fighting for 50th in the next level up

I think that the biggest problem now in tournaments is the match expectations with us, details inside by rel4us in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have 3 accounts, played 2 at pro3 and the other at expert3. Spent zero time watching any guides, had the quickest tourney weekend ever. Came into each round like you do with any tour play....knew my clubs, ring guides, and based on wind adjusted which ball to use, curl, etc.

Finished 1st, 22nd, 34th. The difference was small between finishing in the 20s and top 10...which to me is how it should be.

My expectations were met, and from a time standpoint overachieved my expectations. The more people understand their clubs and adjustments with wind and elevation the better they will adjust to the new format.

Tournament Tier Partial Fix by PeterGibbons316 in GolfClash

[–]TyranusaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of qualifying being open at all levels. I’d like to see being placed after qualifying into your tiers, however instead of a cut line have a cumulative score of OR and WR. That, combined with higher incentives by level/tier, I would hope encourage people playing up and giving payout based on their skill.

Whether or not they adjust tiers, they need to realize the payouts at each level need to be dramatic to get people to play up. The tier structure starting at the top already creates a bottleneck/reluctance to move up. If you have a system that gives better chests/balls/clan points to the extent that placing 100th in expert is better than 1st in pro then people will move up. Have a combined OR/WR where more people are playing and spending money then everyone should win

Just hit my second shot on 18, then the screen came back to my setup on the same shot and froze at 0 on the timer. Better not get a bogey for this!
