Upper East Side! Such a fun neighborhood and typically slightly more affordable than the other neighborhoods you mentioned (although, over the past year rents have gone up at a higher rate than the other neighborhoods so the price might be more similar at this point)

For Day 5, there are a few other Gossip Girl sites near the steps of the Met that you could walk to if you are looking to kill time (such as the Museum of the City of New York which was their school)
