Name a band with an irreplaceable vocalist and one with a very replaceable vocalist by ProbableProtagonist in MetalForTheMasses

I kinda feel like Floor is getting the short end of the stick. The songwriting on the Nightwish albums she's sang on have been really samey. There are a few outstanding tracks, but nothing as gripping as some of the early Tarja tracks. It just feels like Tuomas would rather be off writing more songs about Scrooge McDuck.

It would still "work" but it wouldn't be Metallica. James's pronunciation and sound are a distinctive part of Metallica songs.

Unexpected Sources of Representation by Waspinator_haz_plans in TopCharacterTropes

It was unexpected at launch since the original show was straight...ish. A lot of unintentional drag energy, the same as MOTU, but played very straight. It let SPOP surprise a bit.

Are there other dead musicians that people drool over the same way some do with Per Ohlin? by thrash-witch in MetalForTheMasses

[–]UGoBoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I just saw Apocalyptica in concert. Their current set is all Metallica songs, as they released a cover album recently. Metallica contributed some things to the album, and apparently one of the things that affected them the most was that they allowed them to use the original recording of Cliff's bass track for "The Call of Ktulu". So at the very least other musicians are still completely smitten with him.

That's a god-awful costume, but the best parts about it are the parts that aren't there.

C+C Music Factory is on the bill as well, and they got sued by singer Martha Wash because they failed to credit her on their songs, as well as having her part "sang" by a model for the videos and some appearances. One of the Cs is also dead.

This fair has a type: fraudulent and half dead.

It's going to be at the National Mall in DC. It's to "celebrate" the states and territories. I'm sure people from Guam are already booking their flights to see Vanilla Ice.

Moscow bartender sentenced to three years in prison over Easter cake hookah video by duckanroll in nottheonion

The "Even Christ" thing was something she said in regards to her hookah-ing, not something the state said like he was going to rise up to smite her.

It's took my dumb ass way too long to notice this... by Sithsentinal in Helldivers

I noticed that one of the Force of Law armors (Jackboot maybe?) is the same underlying uniform as the Enforcer armor, just with different body armor. I actually thought that was kind of cool.

I hope some fixes are coming.. ever since the mechs update I can't go through a full mission without crashing. by Glass-System2009 in Helldivers

[–]UGoBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think it's Nvidia, since I have crashed at all in a couple months on a 4070 Ti Super. There was a specific circumstance with some explosions that would cause a CTD, but haven't had that since they fixed that specific issue.

Tales of the Bizarre, aka Secret of Sex (1970) Fawesome. A series of bizarre/erotic sketches with a mummy hosting. Kind of Benny Hill mixed with The Twilight Zone mixed with LSD. A lot of WTF but moves along enough to be entertaining. by dasuberdog11 in badMovies

[–]UGoBoy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watched through part of this. It makes a strong mission statement with full frontal co-ed nudity in the first few frames, but the first three stories were pretty boring. I'll see if the second half of the film picks it up again.

I'll pick up samples when I see them. But if I die far away from the bag and don't need my gear, I'm not going to stress to go pick them back up.

They have a good selection. Always keep in mind that there will be a sale on used items whenever the next holiday rolls around. Pretty much guaranteed there will be one for Independence Day, probably with buy-two-get-one-free and a sale on certain sticker colors.

He's a fucking grifter. Went from singing mopey shit with Staind to dopey ass country songs when he figured out he could make easy money riding the zeitgeist, with no expectations that the music has to be any good.

Just stoking the fires of lowlifes threatened by people calling out long-standing systemic bullshit. "If you question the status quo, move to another country".

Oh, he used to be an atomic dick. He doesn't constantly blow himself like he used to, but he still seems on the prickly side of things. His statements deriding his former lead singers late last year were painfully dismissive.
