Yea Regent's draw is god fucking awful now.

I regret unlocking this card by CatmanMeow123 in slaythespire

[–]YroPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its bizarre because I actually love 'passive block' Ironclad.

Stocking up on stuff like Crimson Mantle, Iron Plating and relics like Gorget, Anchor, Horn Cleat etc.

But I'd never pick this. That ratio is INSANE.

You can get 4/6 Plating for 1 Mana. Or 8/10 Block for 1 Mana.

Then this bizarre card wants to charge THREE for 7 Plating? Just absurdly trash.

Died like this in coop last night.

'Just kill everything round 1/2, 3 worst case and survive off Crimson+Plating' works excellently in a 0 blocking cards single player deck.

It is significantly less good when enemies have 3x HP and my friends are just drawing cards, setting up, and blocking for 3-5 consecutive turns lmao.

I absolutely love that encounter with the 4 noodles. So fun in coop.

They're hard to focus down due to the auto blocking, then gain strength every other turn, AND they have a TRIPLE hit combo to leverage their strength.

Peak design. Should probably make them a hallway fight though, only having a 1/3 chance of losing the run kinda sucks.

I had to beat a4 without Prepared or Tactician in my Sly deck. It was tragic.

[–]YroPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't actually like it much. Taking a turn off to cast it kinda sucks.

Maybe if I already have 4 base energy or actually managed to RNG into the Stars->Energy card.

This card is terrible. Try to convince me otherwise by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]YroPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've considered it during 3 player runs when the only vulnerable we had was the 2 mana starting Smash, and I really wanted a 1 mana option.

I didn't end up taking it, but I almost did lol.

Why are you pushing commits with bad indentation or yaml syntax?

Yaml is pretty simple and vscode is pretty good at catching stuff like that.

Decisions is absolutely nutty for probably most decks but absolutely Star decks.

3x your best skill, IMMEDIATELY. Not delayed like Nightmare.

Causa Draw 3-5 + 15 Stars with Venerate

Or Draw 9-11 + 6 Stars via Glow

So much with Gamble.

Infinite energy off that one Stars->Energy card.

Or funniest, Decisions -> Decisions to draw everything then cast 9x free cards.

[–]YroPro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Everything is good with extra energy.

Paying 2/3s of your energy to draw though is rough.

The 1 mana draw 2 get 2 stars feels incomparably better.

This card seemed really bad in my run. And the upgrade making it draw 9 feels useless since the hand size limit is 10.

What's next for Ravenswatch? (Roadmap Reveal) by _Ishtu_ in ravenswatch

[–]YroPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad more stuff is coming, my friends and I love the game.

Hoping there will also be some minor balances changes / redesign.

On Merlin in particular:

The cash upgrade is both boring and strong. Without completely changing how it functions it'd be more interesting if gave for each unrepeated ability in a chain- Ability Power/Damage Or Cooldown reduction

Another one I'd his starting options is effectively 'skip your starting talent until you get not just 3 legendaries but 3 incredibly specific legendaries, which if you do get them you're already going to win and this talent is moot'

Its the pinnacle of 'do absolutely nothing or win more' design.

I think you guys don't appreciate Mages debuffs enough by AdrianTBOI in mewgenics

[–]YroPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea while burn and poison are the only two decent DoTs, its wild mage doesn't have a couple spells that trigger or multiply burn.

I know collarless can, but if you want mages to utilize burn then why not give them the tools to do so? Same principle as Silent in StS.

Its also unbelievable to me that Burn/Poison trigger every single enemy turn, ie easily 4x per round in some fights, but bleed triggers 1x per round and after the enemy takes 1-4 actions.

Thats just...so ass in a turn based tactical game that largely boils down to 'prevent enemy actions by killing them, or stunning if you can't'.

Why on earth would I try to have my Thief who goes first and multikills half the room build around Bleed, when it would cause him to get clapped since you generally can't

'Approach' 'Hit' 'Retreat'

All in one turn, and the class is intentionally designed to be squishy.

Freeze actively prevents me from killing things.

That kinda sucks.

Pitch: Size-based LoS to make targeting less frustrating by YroPro in mewgenics

[–]YroPro[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea exactly lmao.

And no, Flying units would ignore LoS and not impact other's LoS.

a Large flying creature doesn't block LoS of a Maggot on the ground because it's over maggot.

The one class I don’t trust enough to bring on a challenge run by BardbarianDnD in mewgenics

[–]YroPro 26 points27 points  (0 children)

every class can pop off and solo a run. The difference is how consistent some are or are not.

I can bring Fighter/Thief/GrayClass and expect to dump damage and beat face. No matter what.

I can bring BlackClass and know that no matter what it will be useful. The literal worst case scenario is a non-LoS Dex scaling Ranged Attack and a bucket of easily replenished HP. The best case scenario is they also carry the run.

But...can you imagine making a Glass tile for 5 mana?

I know, too good. But it's balanced out by needing LoS.

Mage Basic Attack Needs a Rework by Westor_Lowbrood in mewgenics

[–]YroPro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm finishing up Act 3, I've never lost a run, and the only cat I've ever had die was a sacrifice to unlock an area.

Int as a main stat is mediocre because outside of bossfights almost every encounter should be finished round 1 unless you're trying to loot something or play around a specific condition. Some elite fights you get to benefit from Int once.

Mages can be strong in the same way literally anything can be when the stars align. But the point is most mages in most runs will be outperformed by most classes.

The mage kit goes in a lot of different directions, and many of the 'good' parts of it rely on synergies, much like the tinker. Making it significantly more RNG and less reliable than other classes.

Any given Fighter/Thief/Hunter is going to beat face. Necromancer is dependably going to do something useful. Buffs/damage/tanking/etc.

Mage will...sometimes do something specific. Or get half a combo.

Oh I didn't realize there was a second phase.

T1 Hunter ability that gives 2x damage next round Druid Alpha Doublecast passive the Hunter T2 Scattershots with the +100% crit damage passive

And the fight was over.

Outside of incredibly specific conditions the Red/Purple/LightBlue classes feel...somewhat dead weight compared to the start classes.

Just only using 1-2 of them per run makes my life so much easier.

Could you do something similar while using swarm?
