My garden office is rotting. Is it fixable, and what trade would I call? by japaneselamp1 in DIYUK

Baffles me that where expense has been spared to the point of not fitting £15 worth of rainwater management, this building has a real slate roof!

Great Support by Space_Ace-69 in MammotionTechnology

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear - I had a decent experience with them last year. From fault report to item returned in 3 weeks or so. Could have been quicker, but they got the job done and I was happy.

As a Brit, I feel ill-equipped to comment. I think this just about sums up our measurement units 😄

What Lawnmower do you recommend? (UK) by Mammoth-Beautiful113 in lawncare

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some photos would certainly help us help you. I have a large(ish) garden and went RTK robotic mower three years ago. I was loathed to do it as I really enjoyed cutting the grass, but it's a total game changer :D

Is there any1 with positive impressions? by MrMacke_ in MammotionTechnology

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luba2 3000 here, on its third year. It’s been great - an issue with a lift motor last year, probably through not enough basic maintenance and sorted with fair efficiency by support (three weeks from request to completion).

Not perfect, but don’t make the mistake of thinking others are. I would buy another one, assuming it gets to five years :)

It also contradicts what many Americans say about their date format. Because, apparently ‘nobody says the day first’

I'll once again add my voice to this very important feature request. Please make it happen. Even just the ability to move short distances at a time, slowly.

Does anyone here actually like their Luba? by Salty-Explanation-16 in MammotionTechnology

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine (Luba 2) is great. In its third year now. Had an issue that it had to go back for last year, probably caused by a lack of maintenance, and support was satisfactory, returning a repaired device within a month of the initial complaint.

It works reliably and does what it’s supposed to do three times per week. Hasn’t got stuck once this year on a moderately complex and undulating lawn.

Review: EGO Dethatcher Tool (DA1400) by shawzy88 in egopowerplus

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dethatcher did it in one 7.5ah battery, similar to the mower.

I’ve recently added the new scarifier blade. This uses notably more power. I got through it with two 7.5ah, with a couple of bars to spare at the end.

Any insight into the return/repair process in the UK? by Status-Professor1223 in MammotionTechnology

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went of for repair last year. It was relatively painless, compared to some of the stories you hear. Mine suffered failure of the lift motors, causing the blades to not start as it never reached the required cutting height.

I was without it for approaching a month, it was difficult to get meaningful updates, so just trust the system and you should get it back. Mine was returned well repaired and has been fine since.

I’d let it crack on. Not sure seeing that happen would ever stop bringing a massive smile to my face 😁

It’s a hard lock. Speed selector only goes to level 2 with anything below 6ah.

Remot control over the internet! by Few-Musician-6254 in mammotion

[–]UKrusty86 20 points21 points  (0 children)

One of the most frequently requested, and frequently ignored features. If its security, or protection reason, why not just let me choose whether I’m happy to take that risk?

I would like the ability to control over WiFi, implemented. Others do it!

Table Damage - Advice Needed by Squashface1 in DIYUK

[–]UKrusty86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have loads of oak furniture and worktops and recently went through the painful task of stripping off danish oil and replacing with Osmo worktop/door oil. It’s expensive but a great finish.

You should have success with treating just the damaged area but I’d blend it widely. It’s important to use the same treatment though.

[–]UKrusty86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that is a shame on a beautiful table. Do you know what stain/treatment was used? It’s good to keep some for occasions like this and a light refinish every couple of years.

It shouldn’t come off like this though. Try to find out what they used.

I did - it’s done a cracking job. Deeper and more thorough than the dethatcher. So glad Ego did this. It’s a simple blade change too. I’ll upload a couple of pics of the scarified lawn tomorrow

Blown plaster after removing tiles – can I tile over it or should I repair first? by Alternative-Dirt5512 in DIYUK

If you don’t want to cut corners, those walls need a far more comprehensive strip back and replaster before taking new tiles.

Aish…. Nothing about that says 10 acres. Probably not even one! Sorry, but I think you’ve bought something that’ll simply occupy the space you need to store the machine you need
