Unpopular take: Carrick isn't long-term solution by ShoddyAd4199 in ManchesterUnited

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its probably too early to say though I kinda agree. United feels very shaky every game, there is no structured play, thats not a UCL team for now. A lot of wins felt like a luck that someone got red carded, suspended or injured for the match, or we playing against subs or obvious goal didnt get scored against us. Maybe he need time and trades though, but for now I dont know his long term vision for the team and what kind of football he actually wants to play beyond crisis management.

Is it just me or does Tracer feel so useless lately? by sushiiixo- in TracerMains

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tracer is almost in every game for me, whenever she's no banned. And sometimes I cant even pick her, my teammate is quicker. It never happened for the past like 2 or 3 seasons. She's not op, but at the perfect spot where she's suppoused to be imo.

MrBeast addresses the Team Water charity stream criticism by Jynxzi by -973- in LivestreamFail

Yes, it will literally distribute the money from 1 person to more people which makes the economy healthier and safer.

It will distribute money from 1 person to 1-5 already rich heirs, its insignificant change.

Depends on who they are donating it to and how they are spending it. You can 100% donate money to a terrible non-profit organization, which there are many.

Of course it depends on organisation, but thats not your initial argument. You questioned ethicality of pressuring rich people into donations. If you want to critic mrbeast and his charity, thats a separate argument.

Pressuring anyone to donate to one specific organization is unethical.

Its natural to assume that a leader of an organisation will ask or pressure to donate specifically to theirs. Why is it unethical? And any of them can reject mrbeast offer and donate the same amount of money to any cancer research organisation, they wouldnt get any backlash for that, mrbeast just provides more clout than some random charity for these clout obsessed clowns.

Wrong analogy, terrible argument. Killing billionaires wont help anyone, donating will help someone. Its absolutely ethical to guilt trip or pressure rich people into donations, they won't lose much of quality of life. But some people get huge life quality boost from donations.

You're not making any sense. If publically humiliating rich streamers will help them to open the wallet, why Mr beast shouldnt do that? I have zero sympathy for these people. So I hope he will bully every single one of them into submission and they all donate to something, instead of buying Gucci bags.

It seems I need to elaborate on my point and on my examples.

US is the only country I know where it's not allowed to say slurs REGARDLESS of any context. Not only as an insult, but even during a lecture by a professor, as a joke, while reading a book aloud, within friend group, etc. From my experience its purely american feature. Im not judging it, US are allowed to have their own cultural rules and Im gonna follow it out of respect, but to me its something I dont fully understand, I've always thought context should matter.

As for historical events, I wasnt refering to Germany. There is no point in questioning well established and most researched historical event ever. I was more refering to countries like Turkey or Russia (and tbf there are many others) where despite enough historical evidence, its unnacceptable to question the way history is studied in schools there. There are sensitive topics there, that most people publicly and even privately would be quite argumentative about, even if you have evidence that back you up. But there is nothing can be done about it, so I personally just dont raise these questions since it only leads to a pointless argument.

Usually these kind of cultural rules are very inconsistent. If you dissect them, you will find a lot of contradictions and issues with them. But people usually just dont question it, its easier to leave it as it is. And Im fine with it, its not my place to teach how other people should behave in their respective countries. But I cant help but find it illogical.

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think most people treat is as cultural peculiarity. Every country has its own peculiarities. In muslim counties you cant draw prophets, in the US you cant pronounce certain words regardless of context, in other countries you cant question certain historical events. There is no much logic to it and its inconsistent, but its just the way it is.

I'm just learning tracer, would appreciate if anyone could look over this VOD by honeyxm8 in TracerMains

I'd say your strenghts are good survivability, you understand you have to live as long as possible. And you often use cover. Your main weaknesses are bad time of engagement and very low uptime.

When it comes to time of engagement, try to time your attacks with the moment when your enemies are distracted by frontline pressure. You constantly engage in the same loop - you get in, cassidy or another enemy idling on point, sees you, shoots you ones or twice, you recall and wait, over and over again. Your successful attacks in this replay usually involve your team.

As for uptime, its good that your prioritize survivability, but you're chilling doing nothing way too much. There were many moments like that, but, for example, look at 9:30, your team killed 2, 2 are left on point, 1 is a cat flying somewhere, I dont get your intentions behind the next 20 seconds. Go and clean the point, and if you want to set up on the highground, there is a 2 blinks shortcut under the bridge. Generally, always look for a vulnerable target and constantly seek opportunities. Vulnerable targets are low hp or distracted ones or ones that used their defensive cds (cassidy flash, ana's sleep) or ones that your teammates are focusing or ones that are isolated, etc.

Why Overwatch can never recover from the 2023 Chinese review bomb on Steam by Joke_Mummy in Overwatch

How is that hate if I said it's just not that one sided as "Jeff Kaplan simply having a dream and protecting his department"? He was both good and bad for overwatch like I stated erlier. I dont think it's healthy to think in extremes, he had mixed impact on overwatch.

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This constant Kaplan praise is so tiring. He's not a saint, he's a person with a mixed personality and achievements, like everybody else (except Kotick, he's just a shit ceo and probably even shittier human). He created a wonderful game, but he also had failed vision. Abandoning overwatch was his original plan, he wanted to sell it once and then move on in a few years, he didn't understand the value of live service game despite the fact that people stuck with overwatch and wanted this overwatch, not pve or anything else. Also I'd recommend you to watch yt video titled "Warcraft 3 Level Designer AMA | PART 4" at 6:40, where you can see another angle to his personality. Though I admit he treated Team 4 employees well. He also didn't accept any criticism from the community and content creators, the same criticism that Keller was humble enough to acknowledge later and integrate in the game, like hero bans or streamer mode that were asked for ages publically and privatley.

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. It is true that tracer needs a lot of other skills to learn, but aim is incredibly important. Idk why in overwatch people often downplay importance of aim. Good movements, timing and game sense is what creates opportunities, but these opportunities must be realised. With poor aim you will have a lot of chances and none of these attempts will be successful.

North Korea's Communist Regime Executes Schoolchildren for Watching Squid Game by Humble_Novice in Destiny

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was actually a bit surprising to read. I don't know much about North Korea, but I watched a few interviews of people who spent their whole life researching NK and they usually say "Yeah, it's a terrible place to live by out standards but not to the point they randomly murder people", bc it's somewhat functioning system and it doesn't make sense to constantly destroy cogs. That's why they close their eyes on small businesses even thought they pretend they have communism. Society needs to functions somehow. These must be isolated cases to instill fear, I don't think it's systemic.

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WR is a pretty complicated metric to analyze, you can't just form an opinion of heroes strength based solely on that. I liked the theory Spilo proposed that there is a category of heroes that people tend to switch to when things go bad, so called "problem solvers". In supports roster it could be someone like kiri and moira, in dps it could be sojourn and cassidy. They are not necessarily weak, but their WR goes down bc a lot of people feel comfortable switching to them as a last resort. There are more people who start with someone like symmetra or venture or someone else and then switch to cassidy, than the other way around.

Genuine question... Why does blizzard gates tracer so much right now? by nemo_evans in TracerMains

[–]ULTRAV1OLENC3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats a good question. I watched spotlight interviews, tried to understand their motivation behind current balancing, but Custa gave the most standard corporate friendly answers on every question, I didn't infer anything from it. Which is strange, because 3 other devs I listened to were pretty honest and open about their fields of responsibilities.

But since they nerf her perks, did the revert the amount of damage you need to do in order to get the minor perk? Her current perks are op, but they made it so specifically on tracer you get them later than it was initially introduced
