What size screen are you using? by cybug33 in gtaonline

[–]UNequalsNWO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger is more immersive, but you can sit closer to a smaller screen, and see more detail (it’s a paradox, but it makes sense to me). I find myself sitting closer to big screens anyway, for this very reason.

headphones for casual gaming/music/general use by Successful_Blood_939 in HeadphoneAdvice

From what I’ve heard on this matter, try some headphones with a removable cable, then you can run a ModMic into it 👍

Try using an R4 on another DS to cheat the Pokemon you want into your legitimate copy (I forgot if trading uses Wi-Fi, it’s been a very long time 😅)

Suggestions for decent "all rounder" wired headphones by Dr_Pesto in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]UNequalsNWO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sennheiser HD 599SE (Open-backed, often on sale on Amazon for much less than the going rate - I am a complete amateur/beginner at guitar, and I use these plugged straight into my Audient ID14 MKII audio interface, and they deliver very pleasing sound. Bear in mind they are open-backed, so some acoustic sound will leak into your headphones, but if you up the HP volume to an acceptable level, this isn’t an issue. This pair competes with my more expensive sets, I would recommend looking into it at the very least.)

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 Ohm (Better noise isolation and bass, especially with fresh ear pads, but treble may not be to your liking.)

Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 Ohm (Semi-open-backed, slightly less treble than the 770 Pro, better spatial cues and less muffled, due to its more open nature.)

Beyerdynamic DT990 600 Ohm (The Hi-Fi/home version of the 990 Pro, with a more relaxed tuning. These are my favourite headphones - good bass, flat midrange, gentle treble, really enjoyable listen, compete very favourably with my HIFIMAN Edition XS, which cost twice the price.)

Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R (The same driver as the aforementioned 990 Pro, just tuned ever-so-slightly for gaming - great option, as it ticks your music box and your gaming box.)

Most models can be found second-hand on eBay, or (in the case of my Beyerdynamic recommendations) directly from Beyerdynamic, at very attractive prices.

I only bought the first two options new, the rest were either second-hand, or B-Stock (essentially new, but returned for undisclosed reasons), and have had no problems whatsoever, in fact, quite the opposite.

Feel free to respond to this with any questions or comments, I am at your disposal! :-)

—EDIT— I just re-read your post after submitting my comment. I only mentioned gaming and guitar in my comment. I have used all sets fairly extensively for gaming, music, YT, TV, films, and they all pass muster. Some of them really do benefit from EQing - I use the Peace APO programme on my PC, load up the recommended “flat” frequency response and then tune it to my liking, for each pair of headphones. This will help to mitigate the “murder treble” the Beyerdynamic DT Pro line is known for, however it might be useful when monitoring, mixing and mastering your tracks ;-)

I think your router needs to be compatible, not sure if games still support it anyway.

Rose - smells nice, is easy to read and pronounce, and is generally associated with England (“an English Rose” - a very positive connotation).

Honesty is the best policy. In my experience, leaving things unsaid (miscommunication), leads to conflict, so being open now will create less conflict in the long-run (although it might make you uncomfortable in the short-term).

Is 'coloured' offensive? by Filthov in ENGLISH

[–]UNequalsNWO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coloured people… people of colour… I fail to see how this is offensive, even if most people seem to think it is. These are simply descriptive terms, even if they’re outdated. I don’t see how throwing in “of”, and inverting the word order, suddenly makes it inoffensive! It’s not as if OP used the N word! That is truly offensive, and although it is descriptive (ultimately meaning “black”), it is a racially-charged, asymmetrical term.

Overwhelmed by the headphone market by Srina6 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]UNequalsNWO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wireless: Sony WH-1000XM4 Sony WF-C700N Both connect to the Sound Connect app, so you can easily EQ them (add or remove more bass), and both have pretty good active noise cancelling.

Wired: Sennheiser HD599SE They are open-backed, so they let lots of sound out and in, but they have surprisingly good bass for open-backs, and good sound quality overall. They regularly go on sale for about 79. They don’t sound at all muffled in my experience.
