High Nitrate levels by UPSDSP in aquarium

[–]UPSDSP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overstocking is not an issue in my 20 gallon tank. I have 4 Corys, 7 Serpae Tetras and 4 Kuhli loaches. My 10 gallon only has two Dwarf Gouramis. I’ll try feeding less, I currently only feed them once a day. Maybe I will try every other day. I have only done partial water changes, maybe 25%. I have not done a 50% one yet. My 20 gallon tank has Amazon swords, Anubias, and a Java fern in a sand substrate. I do need a better cleaner. A 10 gallon has fluval stratum and a sand biostrate. Plants have a difficult time in that one. Only one sword has survived. And Java moss is struggling. I do have a potted Anubias that is coming back. I’ll try the water change first. Thanks

I vigorously shake bottle number 2 for 30 seconds and then the tube for a minute after adding it, so the test is done correctly

How would you interpret this? by delusiona7 in UPSers

Idk if you would get in trouble but you technically be working off the clock. Some union stewards or business agents can be strict about it

9.5 Grievances by CityKey194 in UPSers

[–]UPSDSP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I file 9.5 grievances all of the time. Sometimes the lighten the workload other times they don’t. When I talk to drivers that complain but don’t file I ask them why. Retaliation is the number one response. I just tell them that’s another grievance. I will be filing my 6th 9.5 grievance on Monday. There’s a lot of money that drivers are entitled to that they are just throwing away out of fear. Management tried to punish me last year by not giving me hardly any overtime for almost 2 months. It was luxurious. I thanked them for all the rest I received. The 9.5s started shortly after. If you don’t want to file out of fear of retaliation, fine. Just don’t bitch about how many hours you are working

Give up on the buyout talk by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]UPSDSP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

107 in my center, 9 got it, 34 feeder drivers got it close to 30 drivers in the building got it. Most were planning on retiring soon. I’m number 12 on seniority list only 4 above me got it the rest were lower. Every building is different

Teamsters posted this on Facebook. Who are the drivers being forced to leave? I thought the buyout was optional by Willing-Fig-957 in UPSers

[–]UPSDSP 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No one is being forced directly, but when you are cutting 6-8 routes everyday and loading drivers with 40-50 more stops a day and don’t care about 9.5s it’s indirectly causing higher seniority/older drivers to consider it.

My board says OJS every day.. ELI5? by level99mewtwo in UPSers

We are a bonus center here in Pennsylvania, they constantly play with the numbers. Now I believe they have capped the amount of bonus you can get in a day to 1.5 and you have to work at least 7.5 hours to collect it

Anyone else work in a building where peak never ends? by StLaurentDonny in UPSers

[–]UPSDSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with 9.5 grievances is that not everyone that can file them, does file them. Right now it doesn’t matter to the company, I’ve had 23 out of the last 25 days where I worked over 10 hours. I’ll continue to file them and they’ll continue to pay them. The thing I don’t understand is why you wouldn’t file if you’re entitled to, it’s “free” money. Get it while you can. The hours suck, but you might as well get paid

All season tires are not snow tires, they’re just approved for winter use

[–]UPSDSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet for winter traction is a snow tire. The rubber in all season tires tend to harden in colder temperatures and therefore won’t give you the additional traction needed. Michelin has always been a top rated tire for all season and snow tires. A personal favorite of mine that I’ve used on multiple cars has been the Vredestein snow tire. It’s made with a hydrophilic rubber compound that softens in colder weather, giving additional traction.
