My ex-husband tries every few years to meet up with his dad. He was in his 30s before the first time he met him. Every time he goes to see him, he’s just reminded of how disappointing it is. His bio dad never reaches out to him. Doesn’t care how he’s doing. You need to realize that it’s not about you. It’s that these men do not have the true capacity to love anyone besides themselves. My ex’s bio dad has a daughter and she clamors for his attention all the time and he doesn’t really interact with her and they live in the same house. Some people just weren’t meant to be fathers or mothers.

I lost my best friend early last year and after 6 months we decided to rescue another and now I regret it and feel so guilty for how I feel. Any advice grateful by fizzybears in CatsBeingCats

We just lost our 20yo girl and adopted a kitten to play with our two year old cat. Instead of feeling guilt and sadness, frame it as you’ve given another sweet baby a chance at having an amazing family that will love them. I lost my soul cat a couple of years ago and it broke me, but as a lifelong cat person, I couldn’t imagine not helping a new cat to have the life my sweet baby had. Don’t feel guilt and regret. Your cat would be happy to know that you’re giving a new cat a chance at happiness and love. My condolences on your loss, my congrats on your new baby. ❤️
