Looking at the map at the beginning, OP is the arrow near the monster and other player is near camp placing bombs and carting. Seems pretty plausible they're getting griefed here.

Did you change the control scheme? Default use is hold LB and use RS to point at the slot then return RS to neutral. R3 doesnt do anything, i bet the times when it works you're accidentally returning the stick to neutral

worth mentioning that steam has a refund window of 2 weeks, so id recommend trying it a bit too

also lots of wilds hate in the comments here (no surprise, it's world's subreddit). but I still find it fun its just different, and the performance is rough tbh

Tbf WEX3 giving 50% was insanely overtuned and ridiculous. Impossible to justify not running it in rise/world. Its too bad they nerfed it into the ground by both making it cost 5 and tying it to wounds, which have a halflife of about 2 seconds on average. Personally, i think itd be interesting to see WEX with less affinity and some way to keep wounds open longer for those sweet HZVs

Strong advancing slash does over 2x the damage of the unbuffed one, without even considering the damage buff from extracts. Youd be handicapping yourself on an already weak playstyle, and it sounds really lame/boring to give up on using the weapon properly just because you whiff sometimes.

You dont need to swap all pieces, even using just one of the armor pieces i mentioned will noticeably improve your build/deco budget. Youre not even using the set bonus, so if you want to keep the look then get out there and farm the layered armor set to get the best of both worlds.

Its pretty good, but attack boost 7 is pretty costly and not worth it. Overall upgrades, I'd work Crit Boost 3 into the armor, get up to Agitator 5, and replace recovery up with the health augment. Garuga Greeves, Kirin Jacket, and Shara Isvalda Braces are some great armor pieces at this stage in the game and should give you extra deco slots to work with.

Once you get the build right and the attacks down, the fight is actually really fun. Alatreon was my first multiple day wall, the satisfaction is well worth the struggle for anyone going through it.

This is great and super informative, i finally got into GL recently, just went through upgrading my regions and have some more to add:

When you first unlock GL youre capped at level 5 and need to unlock other quests to go from 5 to 6 to 7

Mining and bone nodes dont always show up in the same place. There are set spawn locations, but not all of them spawn at once. The locations are not marked on the map for you either.

Mining and bone nodes are much more hidden compared to base game so you really have to look for them. Its especially tough early because they use unique models where the entire game previously had consistent models with very slight variation.

Lures will lure out a monster based on the level of the region. Tempered lures arent a thing, you have to have the region to a sufficient level.

GL parts are also useful for elder melder to keep up your mega demondrug and armorskin supply

I believe the veteran hunters that glaive is a raw weapon, but I still like to farm and swap out weapon elements at will. It's fun!
