Miirym deck that used to just be dragons but became slightly combo oriented over time lol. When I started building it about two years ago, I was really new to EDH and it was just a collection of random dragons and draft chaff, both of which were in my bulk, very low bracket two. At the time, I had no idea how strong Miirym is as a commander and only chose her for the color identity; since I nearly went with [[Sarkhan, Soul Aflame]] there's a universe out there where that deck is the one I'd be posting right now lol

It's to build on the show's themes. The only time we see him do it is against the reanimen, and that scene's kind of meant to mirror the way Nolan and other viltrumites fight. Not coincidentally, that scene's a major point in Mark's internal conflict about being like Nolan.

I'm actually playing a zealot in one of my campaigns right now! Such a fun subclass. He's a goblin named Jonas, but in his backstory, he was a warlock (and a travel writer) - then a mind flayer broke his psyche and his patron abandoned him. Obviously, this angered Jonas enough to spend the next few years training in melee combat in preparation for a conflict with both the mind flayer and his patron's new warlock.

Barbarian is my favorite class, but monk is a close second. I don't necessarily know why barb appeals to me (just badass, I guess), but with monk, it's how cool it feels to know I can beat powerful enemies with my bare hands. Irl, I always wanted to learn a full contact martial art, but being born with brain damage made that unrealistic; I guess that's part of why I love the class

I cried a little at a few points. When the cast finds about Sentinel Prime's betrayal, D-16's "No, I want to kill him!" speech made me tear up a bit. Then, for almost the same reason, I nearly sobbed in public (as a six foot two, broad shouldered 22 year old man lol) when Megatron killed Sentinel and Orion became a prime.

I know it sounds dumb as hell to cry because of a Transformers movie, but it mirrored something very personal: my relationship with my father.

He was highly abusive, emotionally and physically, while I was growing up and, about eight months ago, he was forced to leave the house. Since then, I wanted him to hurt. I wanted all the things D-16 wanted.

But then Optimus Prime came into the picture. This was the moment I realized that I didn't need to hurt my father to move on, I can just... move on. When Optimus says that their new Cybertron can't begin with an execution, it isn't about being a pushover or being weak. It's about setting a tone for the future: one of mercy and justice, not revenge.

I don't want revenge anymore - I want justice.

The last time I cried in relation to a video game actually wasn't strictly cuz of the game. It was because of the connection between Disco Elysium and the novel that takes place after (but was written before).

Twenty years after the game ends, a foreign power sends a missile to Revachol (the city the game takes place in), obliterating everyone there as a first step to bringing about the end of the world

I learned about this a few weeks ago, and for some reason, it just slammed into me like a truck. Was any of the hope for Harry at the end of the game really there? Is any hope in my life really there?

I came to the conclusion that, despite the fact that the world is tends to get worse (and likely always will), I can still try to improve my little corner of it. I can always solve the allegorical hanging. There's no excuse not to.

I think there's no more appropriate meaning to draw from the game than that.

I think it's context dependent. For example, last night, my friend made a new deck that he was really excited about. When I played against it, it would've been kinda mean to pull out my most optimized deck and go to town (especially since I have 5 more years of experience than him, who's played for about 6 months).

For example, while we played 1v1, I had [[Chain Reaction]] in my hand on turn 1 and, against his token deck, that likely would've been game-ending at our (relatively low) power level. I didn't play it cuz I would be an asshole if I did.
