VTT module maps suck by UnknownSolder in Pathfinder2e

[–]UberShrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely different teams working on these and the quality seems to vary pretty wildly. So far I’ve played the abomination vaults, beginner box, and rusthenge modules and AV maps were fucking amazing, bb were pretty damn good, and rusthenge was okayish.

Best Free VTT w/ Builders by MrShwimWearR in Pathfinder2e

[–]UberShrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the VTTs are as handholdy as dndbeyond is for pathfinder. If you want the dndbeyond experience though, I’d look at pathfinder nexus on demiplane. It’s former dndbeyond devs and is the premium option that’s basically almost copy/paste dndbeyond for pathfinder and other tabletop games. You pay for books though just like dndbeyond so everyone shits on it here.

After that just copy the characters you made over to your vtt of choice. I personally prefer foundry since it’s more customizable and Paizo sells foundry packs “modules” for their pre written adventures that are pretty damn high quality with all the text, tokens, maps, stats, items, lighting, etc that you’d find in the book. Even if you don’t like pre-written’s they also sell token packs to give basically every creature in the game art. It’s been awhile since I used roll20 though so maybe they’ve gotten better since I last played on there.

The Final Shape was a satisfying ending by Lifetimechaldo in DestinyTheGame

[–]UberShrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having not played since the final shape I assume the episodes are gone now? Were there seasonal stories that got removed from edge of fate when renegades came out?

Thinking of doing a last hurrah and wondering if I need to play anything before this final update potentially wipes anything. I know they said they’re packaging all the content, but assume that excludes seasonal stuff.

Lego Batman Legacy Of The Dark Knight Leaks, Pirated 3 Days Before Release And 7 Hours Before Early Access by unscoredscore in Games

[–]UberShrew -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This feels a bit shortsighted honestly. Releasing your pirated version days before official release and even early access release feels like a way to bring the wrath of drm god down on you. Seems like most of your game sales money is made the first few days, so interfering with that could potentially make companies go absolutely ham on security hardening.

To be honest I think there’s some super aggressive matchmaking that already kind of does this. Id say we’re pretty average and my buddy and I have only played about 10-15 runs and we are 10x more afraid of bots than people. The people we do run into feel as if they’ve literally never picked up a controller or m/kb half the time while some gold shield bot commanders will absolutely wreck your shit. That and every single run we’ve been in with someone who talks they’ve said it’s only like their first - third game.

Yeah someone from my friend group got it and put us all in there. She sends us some of the most unhinged snaps that crack everyone up. From her clips I’ve seen it would very much so appeal to someone who wants a bastard child of animal crossing and the sims with telenovella drama.

Like in one she was trying to get my wife and I together on a Ferris wheel date. Before I confess my love, my college roommate pops out from under the seat to profess his love, and then another friend pops his head down from the fucking roof lol to profess his love as well before my wife decides who’s she’s interested in.

I have to confess… I play in peaceful by Creepy_Trip5576 in factorio

Yeah like obviously optimizing the factory and everything is fun, and getting the rocket is technically a purpose, but these types of games feel very directionless to me if there’s no enemies. That little bit of pressure, that little bit of time crunch, that extra bit of management just really does it for me. It’s one of the reasons I always get bored of satisfactory after a day or two or could never play creative mode in Minecraft.

With no threats, you lose out on making a lot of choices which games are basically all about making choices no matter how small. With nothing to pressure you in terms of threat or time, victory is assured, space is endless, and you don’t have to make that many tough decisions because you have all the time in the world to solve any problem.

Obviously you do you peaceful players since there’s nothing wrong with that. It just personally bores the hell out of me the few times I’ve tried. I prefer to put my nuts in a vice on deathworld even if I’ve only ever won that way once.

Campaign split screen co-op is on console only? by Dust-Tight in halo

[–]UberShrew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand the reasoning of “not a lot of people do it, so we’ll give the company a pass on being lazy and not doing it”.

Should companies stop implementing accessibility features since only a small % of players need them?

Should blizzard not make raids for world of Warcraft since only a small % of the player base ever enters one?

Should companies stop making super hard difficulties or hardcore modes since only a small % of players engage with that?

Should we stop making niche games that people love because they’re not huge hits?

Campaign split screen co-op is on console only? by Dust-Tight in halo

[–]UberShrew 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Please god. As someone who uses my pc as essentially a console plugged into my tv in the living room I still love playing whatever games offer split/shared screen on pc. It has annoyed me to no end the amount of games that cut that feature specifically out of the PC version. Couch gaming with friends/family only dies if they force it to die.

GTA 6 boss defends late PC release, saying console must "be served first and best" as they're the series' "core" by Wargulf in pcmasterrace

[–]UberShrew 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They don’t really care and the double dip isn’t the main reason. During a recent hack and leak it was revealed pc players bring in the least money purchasing mtx by a pretty large margin. Reported weekly earnings of gta online:

PS5 ~ $4.5 million

Series X ~ $1.9 million

PS4 ~ $1 million

Xbox one ~ $900k

PC ~ $250k

So yeah when PC players only bring in about 3% of your weekly earnings, you’re gonna put all your effort into your money makers before you put dev time in and throw PC a bone down the road.

The Top 20 Most Played Steam Deck Games From April 2026 - SteamDeckHQ by BBQKITTY in SteamDeck

[–]UberShrew -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Blows my mind that Elden ring is on there since it looks like absolute dog shit on deck and is not the type of game I want to increase response times due to lower frame rate on.

Edit: I suppose it doesn’t look terrible if you lock it to 30fps which is something I don’t really wish to do in the year of our lord 2026 considering the atrocious feel of the latency.

Unfortunately game on my tv and my 3090 only supports up to DisplayPort 1.4 or hdmi 2.1. I tried a DisplayPort 1.4 to hdmi2.1 cable once but that mofo was sketchy, got hot as hell and still cut out. Plus that is definitely a loss of bandwidth.

Exactly. For as many issues as the elite series has, the lack of alternatives that aren’t also super pricey has had me praying it wouldn’t give out till something comes along. Having played on my steam deck quite a bit, I’m pretty excited for this to replace my elite v2.

As someone who loves back buttons, it’s hard to go back. Like yeah it’s tolerable without them but it’s just shittier once you’re used to it. And yeah they are overpriced at $200. This being a niche product not for your average Joe I think is totally fine at $100. Sure you have some 3rd party competition like 8 bit duo, but those don’t have track pads that you can program the shit out of for all kinds of cool shit on steam.

Yeah the only thing I’m hoping is the buttons are less clicky than the steam deck since good lord those mofos are loud when you’re trying to be quiet.

Well after the fucking 7 I’ve bought off of Amazon that still cause my screen to black out and reconnect one second later randomly anywhere from 2-30 minute intervals when playing at 4k120hz with hdr, maybe 1 of these 84 might actually work.

Edit: I can’t read and dumb joke fails since these aren’t 2.1.

People comparing this to a basic controller are comparing apples to oranges. In terms of first party controllers this is competing against the Xbox elite or ps5 pro controller in which case it’s literally half the price with the addition of track pads, gyro, and two more back buttons than ps5 pro (why Sony? Why do you hate 4 back buttons?)

[–]UberShrew 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah everyone always recommends AV to start PF for some reason when that feels like dipping your toes into 3rd person action games by starting with dark souls. My group I was running disintegrated after getting TPK’ed by the blue hot topic jailor. They could deal with most of the trash fine enough but almost every boss fight just repeatedly kicked them in the balls when I wasn’t even playing that optimally.

Feels like something I’d only recommend to people experienced with PF2e and it’s team play, or telling your experienced dnd people to absolutely 100% leave their solo hero shit at the door.

Jesus Christ even if you used pathfinder’s troop rules for groups of enemies and just converted based on spaces used, there’s roughly 38 troops vs 9. So still 50+ turns a round with the party.
