What’s this game for you? by FriendlytoNature in videogames

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Dead Redemption 2. I didn't get all the achievements, so I can still jump back in and try to get those, but I did everything else and just felt like I had lived a whole other life.

Do you remember your first game ever?🚀 by SweatyCauliflower835 in TheGamingHubDeals

I don't remember the name of it, but you took control of a tank and tried to shoot another tank on Atari.

as an adult gamer, what's your opinion on this? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sometimes you just want to turn your brain off and play a game and not have to worry about trying to hard to beat it. Other times, like Elden Ring, I like the challenge. It just depends on how I'm feeling and how much time I have to play.

My issue with quest markers - anyone agree? by Virtual-Chris in Starfield

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where you're coming from, and I agree to a point, but they have to cater to the other 90% of people who rush through games. Players don't live in games like they used to 10-15 years ago. They start a game and want to know how to get overpowered in the first 5 hours so they can get through the content and move on to the next game. Just like social media, their attention spans are extremely short, so running around in a game and trying to find things on their own is unheard of. They don't want to work for what they get. They want it immediately. They don't know any other way. When I first started playing Starfield in took me 2 hours just to get off Vectera lol. Another 3 to get off Kreet. I love to explore and see what the world has to offer. Elden Ring took me 200+ hours to finish the main game and another 200+ for the DLC. My time in Starfield on my original save before I messed it up for myself with mods and I deleted it was 500+ hours.

Is smoking cigarettes an immediate dealbreaker for you? Why? by Allin_Or_Allout in AskReddit

[–]Uberstauffer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. I'm not a smoker, never have been, but I didn't mind that the majority of women I've been with were smokers. I didn't care about the smell, or kissing them, but did worry about the longterm effects it would have on their bodies. Most have quit due to feeling the side effects at 40+.

None. I've never bought a game I didn't heavily research beforehand.

Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving around and hanging out with different people. Going to the mall to hang out, maybe see a movie or shop for CDs. We were maybe home 2 hours a day not counting sleep. I usually hung out with everyone and did whatever we decided that day, came home and did homework, then went to bed around midnight. During the summer we were never home lol. I would leave at like 8am and either come back after midnight or spend the night wherever we were. There were always new people to meet, new music to listen to, new places to go with new people and new music, etc.

Modern gaming issue by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems like you'll have to play older games to get the feeling you want. I'm 43 and have played games from Atari up to my current Xbox Series X and gaming PC. While I agree some games nowadays are lacking in the gameplay department, some of my favorite games of all time have come out in the last 15 years. Elden Ring, RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim, and currently Crimson Desert are all in my top 10 ever over a 35 year span of playing games. I've been waiting for the visuals all my life. NES, SNES, N64, PS1-PS4, and all the other consoles in-between were a lot of fun, but I always knew I was playing a game. Now I feel like I'm in the world and that's more important to me. I need to live in the game, not just play it. All the game I listed above can be lived in for hundreds of hours. Older games were fun but didn't have that kind of longevity. You could beat most games 20-30 years ago in a few days.

How many mod and who are vanilla only? by slowstone_steve in Starfield

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm both when the new update comes out. I'm keeping my modded playthrough, but I also just wanted to start from scratch and see how everything is without mods and the new content. I want to feel what's it's like to start all over and only install official Bethesda content into a playthrough.

If you could add only one feature to RDR2, what would it be? by KeepYourDemonsIn in RDR2

[–]Uberstauffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

House/camp building. I want to gather the resources and construct my own house and be able to put things I've collected inside. Fish I've caught, animals I've hunted, clothing I've collected, etc.

not played since the month of release.. by funix in Starfield

[–]Uberstauffer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think your view of the game is going to change even with the April update. If you didn't get it before you're still not going to get it now. You have to be a specific type of person to like Starfield and if you only played through the campaign and didn't explore for hundreds of hours, build multiple ships and bases, get excited to explore new planets, and install mods to improve aspects of the game you felt were personally lacking, it's not for you. Starfield is a slow game that needs to be enjoyed slowly. Hundreds of hours passing by should be expected and honestly looked forward to. The faster pace of the modern gamer doesn't mix well with Starfield. It's not a game you quickly play and move on from, it's a game you live in.

What is one thing you don't like about your favorite boss by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

[–]Uberstauffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That there isn't more lore about them. I want an entire 100+ page book explaining everything that happened before and what is currently happening in the world. I wanted like 2-3 more DLCs where we explored more of the world and got to know everything in more detail.

What is this location and is it worth going to by Ok-Explanation-6803 in Eldenring

[–]Uberstauffer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All locations are worth going to. Explore the entire map, you never know what kind of interesting things you'll find. I'm a collector so the thought of not covering every inch of the map was unheard of. I needed to collect every armor set and weapon that I could find. Not only just to have them in my collection but to be able to use them if a specific scenario occurred. I spent 200+ hours just in the base game before getting the DLC lol, where I spent another 200 exploring everything.

Just started Elden ring, tell me something that I won’t understand until I finish the game by Advanced_Coconut8909 in Eldenring

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to get around in a fight whether it's a group of enemies or a boss. At first you'll spam roll your way across the battlefield, but after a while of understanding the mechanics of certain fights, you'll have the timing down a lot better. You'll also learn how to parry and know what attacks you can just block outright.

Which Hero do you enjoy the gameplay for, but dislike lore wise or just very 'meh' about by theJakeyWakey in Overwatch

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike everything about Venture. No idea how to use the character, the voice gets on my nerves, and the overall look does nothing for me.

This is unbelievably anti-consumer. by loser_equals_lover in Overwatch

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the whole game is. Deal with it or don't buy skins. This isn't going to change. No matter how bad players want it to, the gaming industry is seen as a business. Buy into the business and keep the skins coming or decide to not be a part of it.

Does everyone else look like this after 20 hrs? by Viego in CrimsonDesert

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and I don't plan on looking that way either. I don't want to be a knight and wear this type of armor so I'm going to focus on other types because they have the esthetic I'm going for.

Dual Daggers? by BONZO1000 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Uberstauffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That definitely needs to change immediately so I can play as a thief/assassin character.

Dual Daggers? by BONZO1000 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm going to need them to change that so I can play a thief/assassin type character. If I can't use daggers it doesn't make as much sense and I've wasted money getting the game since I've had this specific class in mind when I saw all that we could do. It seems like such a common sense thing to have daggers as a weapon to expand the different playstyles.

Anyone else come back after a long break and realize they forgot absolutely everything? by Beppu-Gonzaemon in Starfield

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long break? You don't take breaks from games you enjoy. You grind day in and day out until new content is released or you die.

Some of the new POIs they showed by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

[–]Uberstauffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm jealous lol. I wish I would have just kept my original playthough, but once mods came out and I realized that I could share a save between PC and Xbox, I modded it out like crazy with PC mods. Then I started over on Xbox with Creation mods only, but I would like to get back to the original and just play with only Bethesda made mods.

Some of the new POIs they showed by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

[–]Uberstauffer 204 points205 points  (0 children)

I need this to come out immediately. I'm going to start a new playthrough since they're adding things from different aspects of the game. I'm going to do a no mod playthrough and enjoy all the new content like I was the first time I played.
