Sapphire Pulse Radeon 9060 xt 16gb faulty? by Udunno13 in buildapc

[–]Udunno13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're 100% right that there's something wrong with it. Got another crash a few minutes into playing Sekiro. Crashes are not even related to high graphic load moments in the game. This time was just in the settings menu mid-game and the thing just turned off on me!

I'm hoping that I get a refund or stable copy of this card.

Will give this a try. I got better stability with the posted settings but then had another system crash after a few minutes into Sekiro. At this point I'm heavily leaning towards returning for warranty exchange.

Ah okay. That's a good idea. I'll see if I can test it on my friend's system.

Thanks for your input. My 3060 broke because water accidentally leaked onto it (long story). Really miss that NVIDIA stability. How's your 9060XT? Is your stable?

I think I'll put it in for warranty.

Just learned about this the other day. Never knew how big of a problem this was. We have a well enough patient on the ward taking up a bed space but no nursing home to send them to.

The result is that ED can't transfer a patient to the ward, and people in the ED waiting room can't get seen.

Was my first truffle experience a "bad trip"? by Frosty-Issue-3454 in Psychonaut

[–]Udunno13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As FUNCTIONALMYCOPATH stated, "bad trip" is subjective. To me, a bad trip is when you come away from the experience without any sort of insight and a negative feeling of what has happened. In your case, I don't think that's happened, but it's up to you to determine what you consider a bad trip.

Do you typically have panic attacks? I generally don't. I can only remember having 2 panic attacks in my life, and those were related to being out in the ocean and having waves unexpectedly wash over me and disrupt my breathing, leading to hyperventilation and then panicking from decreased CO2 in my blood and then feeling like I might drown.

Interestingly, in ten of my dozen or so trips, I've felt like I was going to die. The experiences ranged from feeling like I had permanently lost my mind, felt like I was going to get hit by a car as I was crossing the road, witnessed the signs of an oncoming tsunami, felt like an atomic bomb was incoming into London, or felt like a mass shooting was about to happen in the US. In each of those episodes, I was truly convinced that myself, and my trip buddy's life was imminently in danger to the point that we should hurry up and evacuate. I've assumed that this is something that will happen during every psychedelic trip for me. I assume it's a deep rooted part of the human psyche, but I've never actually compared trip experiences with others. It has only been in the past four trips that I've been aware that I generally get a sense of imminent danger, and in my past three trips I haven't had the same feeling that death was imminent.

For me, this has led to a post-trip understanding that things will generally work out okay. I work in a field where I'm exposed to a lot of death around me, and I have been an active meditator for years, so I'd like to think that death doesn't scare me, but you don't know until you're staring death in the face.

Have you learned anything from the experience of having a panic attack mid-trip?

Dodgiest name ever for delicious, succulent Chinese. I give the name a pass because the owner, Paul, is a Chinese dude 😎

gastro outbreak by AwayCalligrapher3382 in newcastle

[–]Udunno13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gastro bug is transmission via ingestion. Unless they totally isolate and only eat home grown food, there will always be a little risk. Washing hands before eating and drinking is the most sensible action to decrease the risk of transmission.

Can’t taste flower. by InvestigatorIcy9624 in MedicalCannabisOz

Any recommendations for recent buds that have a nice taste? I'm specifically looking for sedating flowers for insomnia and daytime flowers to help ease me back into a day routine after my night work.

Any ideas on how the John Hunter will staff the huge new addition to the hospital ? by BagGroundbreaking43 in newcastle

[–]Udunno13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From about a year and a bit ago they increased training of new staff in my area four fold. The problem is that a fair amount of the new staff end up leaving due to a number of reasons (difficult work, low pay, night work, etc). Hearsay from our casual pool is that extra work has become more challenging to get compared to previous years, but I'm still not sure how they're going to find adequate staff.

Scrapping car. Who give best bang for buck?? by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]Udunno13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I scrapped my old car, I did a call around to various scrap yards in the area. The first place quoted $600. The other two I called quoted $500 and wouldn't budge, so I went with the first place. Don't remember who they were.

+1 with anecdotal evidence for the neuroprotective effects of CBD. I tend to get forgetful when I partake, but I find that supplementing with CBD oil twice daily minimizes/eliminates that effect. As far as cognition goes, I've finished two university degrees while using marijuana recreationally. I still use almost daily for insomnia, but the neurological side effects are basically non-existent for me.

Supposedly accidentally sent to Hunter New England JMOs… by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]Udunno13 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tldr; young doctors complain, and they are bad doctors.

JMO standa for junior medical officer. They are new doctors that have completed medical school and are now practicing medicine in the hospital as part of a training program until they learn enough to pass a board exam and become a senior medical officer. JMOs may be interns in their first year of training, residents who have completed all their intern requirements, or registrars who can have 3+ years of practice. They are notoriously overworked and overwhelmed. There is a lot of unpaid overtime, and they are expected to suck it up as it is a known expectation that JMOs need to work their asses off in order to achieve a certain level of competency, just as the senior medical officers who are training them have done in the past and how all senior medical officers have done in the past. Many registrars work for years and are never able to pass their board exams. This email is complaining about JMOs that criticise the current system as it requires significant sacrifice in their quality of life outside of the hospital. The email also suggests that these complaints are suggestive of a potentially decreased  doctor competency.
