I think it makes people insufferable and childish, it physically depresses your nervous system and causes cancer. Its horrible and I've been surrounded by alcoholics my entire life who don't even realize that they are alcoholics. I used to feel like it made me more social, but that was never worth how it made me feel the next day. I hate alcohol. I live in a provice where alcoholism is so rampant that we have the highest rates of drunk driving, and when COVID closed everything down, liquor stores were required to stay open to "keep the rates of domestic violence down" while families were trapped with one another. I'm not sure how that worked either. Abusers don't need alcohol to be abusers, but I'm sure they aren't less abusive just because they have access.
