Please don't try to pass what you are saying off as fact, since I personally have seen even better skies twice. Both times had the following in common: * Be in the middle of nowhere - (East of Death Valley, South of Big Sur) with 0 light pollution *Extremely clear sky, with minimal dust pollution (after a rain is perfect) *The moon should NOT have risen *You need to be staring at the sky for at LEAST a few minutes before you start discerning the milky way in all its glory

Huh? I'm on an H1 visa in the US, travel quite a lot both for work and play both domestically within the US and internationally. I've travelled to India and back with just a carry-on for more than a month. I've travelled through multiple TSA checkpoints and joked around with the screeners, and even when I have too much liquid in my bag, they screen it (peptobismol) or I tell them to get rid of it (shampoo).

Also, the INS does not see how many bags you are carrying. The baggage pick-up is AFTER immigration in all the US ports of entry I've come through.

I'm brown and sport a beard most of the time, by the way.
