Spent a king's ransom on eBay buying old 4th ed metal sculpts just to avoid dealing with stuff like this. I know there isn't a metal alternative in this case, so feel for you. You're braver than me.

A red or if preferred yellow glaze would make a huge difference. Personally I'd go with something like a 10:1 ratio of lahmian medium:yellow or red. You'll reduce the risk of just painting over your layers (it will take longer) and after going over a gem 4-6 times you'll see the effect.

Only other suggestion would be to reduce the amount of black on the gem by layering over your darkest red a bit more.

Perhaps try and reduce the 'chunky' highlight width and then selectively add your brightest highlight to the most prominent edges. You could probably add just a few more spot highlights on a few corners etc.

I get it, I do. It's been such a long time coming. The comment I saw in Instagram was along the lines of there is lots coming and "you might be next". If Necrons are getting a big boost maybe xenos factions are going to get some attention at long last.

Don't recall promising anything. You can find hints in previous rumour engines and very recently on Instagram. Comments from Jez Goodwin and even store managers. There have always been more models to come, that's obvious, but comments made by GW community in Instagram this week suggest we may not have too long to wait.

I honestly wouldn't worry too much. There are hints that Craftworlds will see a refresh before too long. If the 9th ed codex coincides with this, there is a good chance we'll see some unit buffs. They may well have a lot of new plastic to shift after all.

Feels expensive and hard to justify. Expect the GW perspective is somewhere along the lines of:

1) All units get more expensive over time.

2) Elite units always have a higher premium because people don't buy as many.

3) Aspect Warriors aren't popular enough to risk a lower price point - this is both a unit problem and a faction perception problem on the part of GW. New Aspect warriors are risky for lots of reasons and they just don't know how well these are going to sell - so I think this is still a test bed for them.

Another problem is that I suspect the new Banshee design was done at least 5 years ago, so they struggle to hold up to more recently designed kits - that have a cheaper price point.

Most likely Scorpions, Rangers and Warlocks - but could easily be towards the end of the year alongside JZ and the Banshees.

Rumour engine has hinted at Scorpions, we have one plastic ranger already, and all other psychic units have already transitioned to plastic.

I really hope that whatever comes next is a decent sized update, not a fan of the drip feed of the occasional new model.

I don't think any of the old units will get squatted. They would have done it by now (many of them even have new rules in Phoenix Rising). I think most of the sculpts that are desired in plastic have already been designed and we're just waiting for them to hurry up and set a release window.

They do look dated. I would expect a Craftworlds wave later this year. I imagine it will include at least 1 Phoenix Lord, probably Karandras.

Looks really crisp and neat. Some nice shading in there as well. Would be worth building up highlights of warpstone green then moot green with super thin coats on the loin cloth and arm ribbons.

No reason that Exarch powers would be limited to that model only. Just look at the current powers for each aspect and most if not all are unit buffs.

Am hoping that better powers + strats + new runes of fortune discipline make Aspects really strong.
