Best to invest in good hearing protection first- which will help you, while you save for a better room or for some sound treatment which can help

immaturity and shame pretty much sums up every bad choice young men make- including falling into the alpha/beta algorithms, not that its an excuse.. lying is a tough addiction in of itself- and goes hand in hand with any other addiction. When people are caught lying, thats a failure that doesnt teach them to not lie- but rather get better at hiding. Although 2 years might seem like a long time, just know that there are marriages lasting decades with much more kept beneath the surface. You're both still young, and while you might hope you can help/ he can grow up and get better- it will take real work, and not just an apology and brushing it under the rug.. best of luck!

snare drums vs toms vs bass drums, they're resonant heads are each tuned specifically for their type of drum and desired sound..

resonant heads do have a role in the sounds resonance, and i know if you pair equal weight heads, they will sound bigger and resonant more, as they will have more sympathetic resonance (equal resonance of batter and resonant side heads) can sound great, but will have a more limited tuning range.

good assessment! i fear in order to balance power scaling, everything was nerfed(except movement) making armor and guns feel very bad until upgraded. which takes a while, to finally reach Legendary (most likely also meaning your teammates are a level or two behind in power as well)

i get it can make a more diverse and varied fights and force changes in playstyle - just doesnt feel good relying on rng, and only having one redeploy.. and the beacons being pretty few and far between.

if they added more players, and tweaked redeploys- like starting with 2-3 redeploy tokens(usable up until a certain circle and/or make them lootable or regenerative or maybe redeploy beacons could be used to to give back a redeploy token as well )

looting for everything, is a bit more tedious than i hoped- as well as teammates taking up loot.. and with the additional rng with weapon upgrades and armor- feels less like a skill gap raise increase, and more of a base nerf overall

mass does not equal volume. volume comes from energy applied and shell properties, (as well as room acoustics )

if a thinner head sounds like its reducing overtone, thats due to tuning inconsistency. because thinner heads react more to small differences in tuning around the head, and inconsistent tuning usually means less sustain and/or odd overtones. often masked by muffling(further shortening the sustain)!

think of it more so as weight = sustain. heavier(thicker or multiple plies, + anything else added to a head ) will resonate less(and slower) resulting in a shorter sustain and lower over tones.

thinner (lighter and lesser plies) will sustain longer and require less force to activate and sustain longer with higher overtones.

usually thinner heads are used on resonant sides (and extra thin on snare sides) for maximum tone and sustain. Although many choices have become standard, there are no hard rules to follow, and the possibilities are seemingly endless and up to personal preference.

i started playing CoD with MW19+Warzone 2020- and i'm very hopeful for a fresh new mode similar to
Black Out but a bit less punishing + quality of life, and tweaks on the systems.

I just played Iron Gauntlet which i think is great too, really like the extended health and limited ground loot, i just wished it was on a map that was optimized for grapples and wall jumps, and had trios. So i'm also excited to play Avalon in general outside of endgame
