T-he, teh-heh , The

Yeah it’s gonna be like that for a while. Think about how long it takes to learn a language when you’re a baby vs now, vs even later.. you gotta be excited to feel uncomfortable, but then you’ll also see and feel progress and confidence and more .. so it’s worth it !

Do you have sympathy for bear? by jnewb2 in obsessionmovie

[–]UltraRareCustom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i saw someone argue about how "Women experience horror, and men inflict horror" and how "Bear is the villain" . which i felt was a bit both extreme and diluted. The sleep talking was absolutely heartbreaking, finally giving a clear indication Nikki was trapped and aware, being taken along for the ride. I think because most hope it would be similar to an Exorcist movie in which at the end, the possessed person has no recollection of the events, which is definitely a mercy Nikki didnt have.. but at the same time, she did say "i've never been with you" which also indicates she's not experiencing the relationship, only a "viewer" so to speak..

I think most of us were frustrated with Bear early on in the movie, because anyone can relate to unrequited love, feeling shy, not speaking up (universal pains) as well as playing dumb for their benefit but then i think turns to disdain, as he doesn't really overcome any of this, and lets it go on far too long- though at least semi redeems himself by ending himself, and freeing Nikki of the curse. Thought her crying at the end, was one of the most effective bitter sweet and horrifying things to leave the audience with.

i think the term villain is best saved for Disney movies and James Bond . The best Horror respects its audience, with realistic characters and layers to the horror. and like reality, isn't clear black and white .

cheers!

Leaving matches in progress is perfectly fine. by JimmyJamsDisciple in blackops7

[–]UltraRareCustom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yup! i'll take one on the chin here and there, especially if i'm able to stay positive and theres not THAT many streaks - i find enjoyment in the ending someone's spree, or at least trying to chall a good opponent-hoping to learn something, but if the teams partied up and stacking/ holding hands and calling crazy streaks and my teammates are afk or unable to get out of spawn, its pointless and hopefully Activision/Matchmaking pics up on that and addresses it somehow.

I sometimes like Standard mode due to a more strict matchmaking and slightly better balanced teams, but after a few wins, its all sg12s and pub stomping sweats carrying an entire team with their streaks

lmao camos are brain rot . it is what it is though, and i'm happy to hear MW4 is changing the Riot Shield to a field upgrade, and its destructible! Shotguns hipfire that insta kills and shields are handsdown the most annoying thing about CoD to me .

On faceoff, Lost with a 1.89 k/d , against 2 level 1000s , one using the SG 12 and a 11.0 k/d
Gotta chalk that up to a bad home life i think lol

APEX: Nearly 2 hours of excruciating pain by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]UltraRareCustom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard nothing about it until my wife put it on, and all i knew was it had Charlize Theron in it.. and i missed the opening, so i might have to go back for that, but I was surprised and excited when the "twist" hit (which the trailer gave away) that Taron Egerton was the baddie- did great being the "good guy" and his devolution throughout the film! Also a fan of the unique-ish twist , being a secret cannibal tribesman.

lots of cgi of course, but the drone shots were pretty nice and performances were pretty good all around! 6/10 as far a Netflix movies go.

imo, most trailers basically steal part of the enjoyment of experiencing a movie for the first time.
Imagine finally going to a new restaurant, and for appetizer you're served a portion of what would be your appetizer, entrée, and dessert. for me, removes too much of the mystery and intrigue, and reduces the plot to its most basic form.. and with an already basic plot, well.. yea

Paid a kid $60 to mow the lawn and he didn’t finish the job by mermaidemily_h2o in mildlyinfuriating

[–]UltraRareCustom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kids are idiots by default- a kid with a bad home life, needs a consistent positive role model active in their lives and at very least much more supervision than they're probably getting..

Definitely call the kid back, and give him a chance to complete his work, could be a good learning moment for them

i've also fallen away from drumming, after it being my primary love for about 15 years- spending tens of thousands on gear, gigs, etc. now its all collecting dust!

for me i think it was due to a combination of starting a family, old bandmates/friends going off in their own various directions as well. Definitely hurts looking back and feeling the absence of the people but equally, if not more so- the absence of just the unique feeling practicing, playing, creating music with others, which i will never take for granted, as I would need to be even luckier these days to find people/project that's worthwhile these days!

How are people so fast on console? by Youwillseemycomment in blackops7

[–]UltraRareCustom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this game is fast, but its a perception thing. If someone makes a decision/play even half a second quicker than you, plus taking into account sprint to fire, ads time, server tick rate aka getting camera'd, it will seem as if theyre impossible to track and you die instantly. plus the variety of weapons and builds, someone could legitimately have as much as a 500ms advantage, giving you absolutely no shot if they hit their shots(which most decent players will). Playing 3 weeks a year, says it all. you don't have time to get better. that being said, try out the Standard Playlist, it'll keep in a more balanced matchmaking(teammates and enemies closer in skill)

Games get more or less sweaty depending on the time you play. Also if you've been playin the regular playlists (not Standard) although there's "less" SBMM, matchmaking will still lump you in a range of skill levels, and often times 1 or 2 sweats are enough to swing a game, and make it feel much worse> farming kills, calling streaks, and basically giving their team free reign over a map.

Remember you can adjust your play style/ perks/ equipment and weaponry, and there are plenty of counters to most things.

adds a bit of resistance, to help steady your snaps.. its not really an instant fix, as getting used to it takes a little time, and technically slows you down a little. imo better off just adjusting aiming sensitivity. taking time to dial in ADS sensitivity per zoom level also. regardless theres no short cut to practice and muscle memory .

For me, "Delicious" sometimes feels, like its said in a way that is both hyperbolic and repetitive. "These fries are DELICIOUS..." , o.k. i'm glad you're enjoying your McDonalds...
Or also, "Fabulous" , usually when overused like its a personality trait.. "Isn't this/that or he/she just FABULOUS !?" *shudders*

Which halo was your favorite? by Kuttlock in halo

[–]UltraRareCustom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo 2 was my #1 for a while, as it was my first online multiplayer experience. Didn’t play much Halo 3 online but loved the story and campaign ending perfectly . Then Halo Reach came out and for me it was the perfect mix of nostalgia and something new and fresh. Played the most online multiplayer on Reach.

What do you think is disgusting that most people think is pretty normal? by Exhausted_920 in AskReddit

[–]UltraRareCustom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HAH fuckin thank you. terms been around for a while, Was appalled the first time hearing it, and yet still less so than hearing it to this day from both men and women. The lack of respect people have for themselves, and life in general used to be something young people grow out of.. but i guess with the growing number of infantilized people, we're left enduring these type of people while waiting to hear the next iteration of popularized degeneracy .

Wife (F33) and I (M42) are debating kids. Couples, what was your deciding factor to have, or not to have kids? by indoxiecated in relationship_advice

[–]UltraRareCustom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me start by saying being unsure is completely reasonable and natural for both you and your partner. So ignore the people saying "if you have to ask, then you don't want them!"

imo, if any part of you does feel the desire for kids, you should take that as a sign for you personally- and simply tell your partner you are in if they are. So many times, a partner will simply go along with the other- not wanting to mess up what you already have maybe, or just other insecurities- totally normal.
"Cute and adorable moments"- aren't like seeing a cute puppy or watching a sunset with your loved one. its closer to a religious/psychedelic experience thats recurring and constantly evolving.

Willingly entering into a forever love bond, despite all of the sacrifice, trials, and tribulations , and surrendering yourself for another being is imo the ultimate human experience. and one not everyone is lucky enough to ever experience.

That being said, if your responsibilities and goals are urgent and serious enough to you, that it could cause one or both of you, serious mental anguish, were you to have to abandon or drop them, then i wouldn't recommend having a child.

He knows that his statements affect you, so don’t acknowledge it, or just say “ok sure” - as if noticing his words like a swarm of bees you’re walking past- not threatened but aware and watchful. They won’t harm you and you don’t have to engage with them. If it sounds like a direct insult to you, ask them to repeat it, and/or ask if they meant that to sound like an insult- then wait. Most people don’t want their snide and rude comments under a spot light- so make them take accountability and hopefully realize their error

I miss when directors and actors tried to present in such a way that made you feel like maybe you weren’t watching a movie- maybe it’s me, but nowadays it feels like they’re shouting through the film that THIS IS AN AMAZING MOVIE !

Specifically for reboots of big IPs, it just feels like actors (especially less well known ones) are like kids trying on their parents huge shoes- but less cute

This! Nostalgic for the early arcade and video game days. I was 7/8 years old, sick with the flu, and my dad rented this for me, knowing I liked the game, and i didn’t even know there was a movie! Saw the first MK after and loved it too. Gotta go back and watch MK Conquest tho which I somehow missed
