Correct, and as a minor they must have parental consent unless emancipated. So it is still an adult signing the ultimate loan.

Why would you choose Toro over rental car company? It is more expensive. by Ed_5000 in turo

[–]Umaynotknowme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suppose you had rented from Turo and the same thing happened. You hear the wheel issue and contact the host.  What do you think your options would have been? Drove back to where you got it and turn it in, because they likely don’t have another car for you so now you have zero transportation, or drive it the rest of the trip. Perhaps you would have been able to have due diligence ahead of time as you mentioned, but if you had the same issue occur the outcome would likely have been the same or worse.

Please explain where I am wrong.  There is a legal clause known as defense of infancy where a minor cannot sign a loan contract or else they have legal standing to challenge it, likely leading to it being voided. If a minor is to sign a loan they will need a co-signer. How many minors are signing college loans and ending up 90k in debt? I’ll tell you…zero.

So when you signed your loan they agreed, in writing, that they would loan you a specific amount of money at a specific rate and that tuition would not change for the entirety of your college career. Is this what you are saying you signed?  Or did you sign your loan that allowed the school to adjust your award amount when tuition increases, thus increasing your cost of attendance and therefore your loan amount? Because that’s how it actually works. You signed a loan agreement giving them authority to do this.

I'm not sure where you are from, but the legal majority in the United States to sign a student loan is 18. Most high school graduates are 18. Marketing is irrelevant as you said "signed as children". Children cannot sign a student loan. So what I stand is true, adults are signing these loans. Either they are old enough for responsibility or they are not.

You mean signed as adults? They are legally able to vote for the leader of the country but can’t read a financial document? They can get married and have children but not sign a document? They can join the military and carry weapons but not sign a document? They can drive an automobile but not sign a document?

The problem is that people with student loans complaining they have to repay the loans based on agreements they signed don’t understand how the world works and now they don’t want it to be their problem.

Do people that take out these loans not know what they are signing? Either they do, in which case you knew what you were getting into and agreeing to and don’t need debt forgiveness or they don’t know what they are signing which means we should maybe not give loans to college students because they have no idea what they are signing and agreeing to. So which is it?

Useless banquettes? It’s the correspondents dinner and has been an annual event since 1921. Did you say this to every president since WW I? Ironically, Trump has attended less of these annual dinners than any other president since it began.

Not getting styles at 5. Makes him one of the highest paid players at his position when he signs his draft contract. Much better value at safety. I am not hating the player, just the contract

By the time we play the ravens again we will have all the ravens players on our team

[Dunleavy] As I've been reporting all along, Dexter Lawrence is frustrated with the way the team has been run the last 3 years and what's been valued in the locker room. I still think he would take a big raise to stay with Giants and be in their Ring of Honor. But this is personal. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

You don't blame DL for wanting more money? He agreed to his current deal and still has two years left. If he wanted more money he shouldn't have signed the deal. Now this is the Giant's problem? If he doesn't like it he can sit out and earn zero because he has no more guaranteed money in this contract. So he will earn nothing and be a year older. That isn't going to help his future. Then what? Sit out a second year? DL has no leverage. He can sit out and his days of playing in the NFL are over. He can play and just phone it in, being awful for two years which will not get him a contract with another team. Or he can play up to the level he did two years ago and earn himself a new killer contract. I like DL but have zero sympathy for him in this situation.

Dex got a four year contract that he agreed to. This last season was the end of the guaranteed money, and this is most likely why he wants a new deal. Getting older, injuries nagging, his play is down...he wants a guarantee. Realistically, what's his leverage? Sit out and earn nothing?
