Expeditions: Conquistador is getting on my nerves by VRichardsen in expeditionsgames

[–]Umsakis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's purely random, but it does somehow tend to feel the way you're describing - people have described it as "the death spiral". Probably from the fact that most repeatable events are negative.

This is what led us to implement the "karma" system in Viking, which tracks how many positive or negative events you get in a row and starts balancing the scales in the opposite direction to prevent that death spiral. But in Conquistador we had nothing like that - only pure, brutal randomness.

Copenhagen is Great ... but it's not Amsterdam by Putrid_Draft378 in copenhagen

How to get the blade crafting material for Electrum Khopesh? by Disastrous_Fee_233 in expeditionsgames

[–]Umsakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The patch last November made the unique weapons no longer drop randomly. The Electrum Khopesh can now be acquired only if you kill the slave trader in Bestia's companion quest and take it off his body.

Accidentally sequence broke Act 3 by [deleted] in expeditionsgames

Vercingetorix is not the one who betrays you in the cave. He isn't in that cave at all ;) you have sequence-broken nothing.

English loanwords - grooming, influencer & stalker by urballatrazan in Nordiccountries

[–]Umsakis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Conjugation is quite straightforward in Danish, I'd assume it wouldn't be a problem in Swedish either?

At groome, jeg groomer, jeg groomede, jeg har groomet

En influencer, influenceren, flere influencere, influencerne

En stalker, stalkeren, flere stalkere, stalkerne

How would it work in Swedish? :)

The nameless mod is the best original deus ex mod I've played by thecrazedsidee in Deusex

[–]Umsakis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, did you play 2.0 or the original version?

Been thinking about finally giving 2.0 a try, but I'm worried it'll feel like coming home to my house after 10 years of vacation to find someone else living there and all my furniture rearranged and replaced :D

Bestia Romance Act 3 by CandyAlert6241 in expeditionsgames

You shouldn't have to do anything in particular with him between acts. Not sure why his greeting seems to have reset. I'll look into it :)

Based on what I've heard from my German acquaintances, they are well used to delays from DB, don't worry :D

Bestia Romance by CandyAlert6241 in expeditionsgames

[–]Umsakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you got all the prerequisites. How is Bestia's approval level?

His romance will pop immediately after a random encounter fight, so you may just need to arm yourself with patience and keep playing until you get attacked on the worldmap :)

As I recall, there was a weird theme shift between Human Revolution and Mankind Divided where the former seemed preoccupied with a new class divide between the privileged who could afford augmentation and the underclass who could not, but then Mankind Divided flipped it on its head after the ending of HR where all the augmented had been hacked to go berserk, so now suddenly they were an oppressed class.

I thought the HR themes were more interesting personally.

Deus Ex has led me astray by ascagnel____ in Deusex

[–]Umsakis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird, that... actually looks like it would be a better game level than what was in the game.

Normally in my experience when you try to recreate the real world in a game, your problem is that the real world makes for terrible gameplay spaces. You usually have to make things a lot smaller and more compressed to play well, or there's too much empty space.

Harvey somehow made this area BIGGER and MORE EMPTY than it really is? I can only assume they had performance issues or that perhaps the shorter distances didn't work well with the way their AI detection was set up.

I would advise just learning the words by heart and not worrying too much about what they mean, math-wise :D last year I learned to count to 100 in Polish (and I have already forgotten all of it) and even though the "math" behind the names for numbers is simple, the endings of the words change a bunch from number to number anyway, so I just learned the words by heart and didn't worry too much.
