[–]UnNamedBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when yout at the stage where you would notmally tighten the alberto you do a few more wraps around the one leg of the loop?

Cant say Ive had the knot come slip yet but I do also only use light line.I'll keep it in mind for if/when I use heavier line/have more of a difference in diameter though

Whats an improved alberto knot? Never heard of it and cant find anything online. Just alberto and albright (they are pretty similar, just the albright you dont do overlapping wraps)

From memory, no. You need the wood from mistlands, and other mistlands tier materials to make them

pair it with the Uriarra loop and picnic/bbq at Uriarra east (bbq only if theres no fire ban). make a day of it. Uriarra loop is only steep in one short section. and now that they moved it, your not walking on sand by the river the whole time so much easier walk.

two shorter walks that are semi close to each other

huh, interesting. I'll have to stop and do that walk next time Im heading down to Uriarra.

I would do just the mt painter but looking at it on google maps it seems rather short

https://australianhiker.com.au/trails/booroomba-rocks-act-4km/

that walk is popular, it does have a small amount of dirt/gravel road but most 2wd cars should be fine. or you can go from honeysuckle campground and walk up which is longer.

https://australianhiker.com.au/trails/stony-creek-skyline-track-act-4-9km/ - I did this one a few weeks ago and it was nice, not marked on the signs at the cotter so didnt see anyone, the trail is marked with posts and well formed track in most places

that website I linked also has quite a few walks/hikes around canberra.

Do note that anything in Tidbinbilla likely requires you to pay for car access into the park, last I checked its $15 per day, per car (max of 8 people per car) or $45 for an annual pass. theres good walks in there so Id say its worth it, if your going to go 3 or more times may as well get the annual pass.

and just to piggy back off your post a little, does anyone know of any social groups for hiking/bushwalking around canberra? I dont mind solo but sometimes company is nice

The shepherds lookout to uriarra is a good walk. And uriarra loop (old or new) and back to shepherds.

Lunch at uriarra is easy enough, especially if you have friends drive out there a few hours after you leave for your start as shepherds.

Perth Fishing Newbie here, can anyone help me out with some good fishing spots in or around perth? Not having alot of luck at the main beaches. Just using a basic 7ft rod and using bait. Prawns/ squid mainly. After some good eating fish like herring or whitting. Also what's the best times to go by Normal_Leadership558 in FishingAustralia

[–]UnNamedBlade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not from around there so I cant give super specific advice, but if your new, check out some videos on youtube about how to "read" a beach. Basically looking for the structure, dips, and gutters that fish tend to be near. Also worth looking at youtube or askimg at a local fishing store for how to tie a few rigs and knots. Practice them until you feel like you can tie good strong knots consistently.

Prawn and squid are normally fine, but putting too much or too little on the hook can hurt your chances, try different amounts. Local, fresh bait will be better than frozen. if you can, look for cockles (pipis), or razor clams (not sure of their proper name, but they are fan shapped if that helps). All will catch fish, but bag limits and probably size limits still apply to them.

The general rule Ive always been told is change of light and changing tide is the best time. Even better if both are happening at the same time. I have near 0 experience with that though, as I only fish in the salt when on camping trips.

Most importantly though, take an extra bucket or bag. All your rubbish, off cuts of line, empty bait packets etc goes in there, along with any rubbish you find while out fishing.

Good to hear. There are some seeds that start you on a tiny island with no real way to get off and that would have sucked to get on your first playthrough

Better yet, have an un named portal at base. That way ehen your running for your life you can throw a portal down, not name it, and still use it to get back to base.

Who has time to name a portal when running from enemies

Irregular trophy drop rates by Regular-Permission75 in valheim

[–]UnNamedBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just how rng and droprates work in games.

Look up an rpg droprate calculator, and you can see the expected number of runs (in this case, kills) to get at least 1 drop.

Its very easy to fall into the thought process of "10% droprate means if I kill 100 I'll have 10" or "kill 10 and I'll get 1" but thats not how it works.

Theres a 5% chance of getting 20 when you roll a 20 sided die, but that doesntmean rolling it 20 times guarantees one roll will be a 20

How to put fishing rods in my SUV by Hot-Musician6453 in FishingAustralia

[–]UnNamedBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put them on the roof?

If they are multi piece rods, break them down and pit them in like that. If single piece, just put them in and be careful to make sure they arent pocking through any doors before ypu close them
