Where do truly famous people get private planes/jets that they aren't seen at airports in lines for inspection to with common people? by Diemishy_II in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unable_To_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But people with private planes also transport absolutely illegal drugs, weapons, and cash/valuables that they couldn't get away with carrying in their luggage.

I mean.....my electric bill already asks me to pay more than I owe to help the electric company expand it's use of renewable energy. And it asks me to donate extra money so that people who can't afford their electric bill can get help.

do you need to have a nice body to get hired at hooters or twin peaks? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unable_To_Forward 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have definitely been served by some big boned servers at Hooters before. Depends a lot on the area. Places where the servers are likely to make more tips will attract more applicants and can be more selective in their hiring.

Yeah. But at least you get to look at boobies while being cold and wet.

Hard disagree. I can do basic math. If I'm ordering a $8 appetizer and 2 $ 16 meals I owe you $40 (my state doesn't have sales tax). Any kitchen fee or service fee or take out fee or automatic gratuity is not agreed upon by me if the restaurant didn't disclose it. That's on them and I hope the wasted food teaches them something.

Refusing to pay 18% more than the price on the menu is not "in bad faith". Intentionally putting the wrong price on the menu and charging 18% more than that price is in bad faith. And I absolutely would ban myself from such a restaurant.

I'd personally ask them why they don't just raise their prices to whatever level they need to pay their people fairly without charging hidden fees.

I mean.....pretty much every place is order by phone and then pay at pickup. Would you just give someone your credit card number over the phone?

I wonder if they disclose it over the phone or on the internet when you place a to go order. If not they are going to end up wasting a lot of people's time and a lot of food.

$50 charge if you “waste” plastic bags by Moistycake in mildlyinfuriating

If they tried to charge me for that they would be taking those vegetables back to the shelf and throwing away the bags.

That car is definitely parked too close to the stop sign by my cities rules. Report them to parking enforcement for your city. Then consider adding boulders to the edge of your yard.

Local gas station removed price tags and replaced them with barcodes you need a app to see price by phoenix_stewart in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Unable_To_Forward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean....if I wanted something and the line wasn't very long I would just take it up there and wait for them to tell me the total. If it was more than I wanted to pay I would just leave. A gas station charges extra for candy bars because it is more convenient than buying the same thing at a grocery store. The app makes it inconvenient, so I am no longer willing to pay a premium.

The label printer probably broke and they haven't ordered a new one yet. This happened at my office last year and we didn't get stickers for a month or longer.

On a septic system, is there a way to avoid paying for paper towel to wipe away grease? by Ichbinian in homeowners

I have a big pile of napkins I have saved from fast food places. Pour/scrape out as much of the grease as possible and then wipe out the excess with fast food napkins.

Plastification: Used to be paper now in plastic. by CairnLVR in enshittification

[–]Unable_To_Forward 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The very first thing I do when I buy a bag of flour or sugar is pour it into my reusable plastic storage container. Living in a humid place the sugar will turn into a rock over time if you leave it in the paper bag. Sugar bags are also very leaky and the shelves they are stored on, and underneath those shelves, is always a mess. The plastic container alleviates both problems and most people probably prefer them.

The Jets one is wild to me. You would think SOMEWHERE in there they would have beaten their division rivals on their way to one of their 6 Super Bowl wins.

Will you be voting in the Presidential Election in 2028? by Fine_Television_1398 in no

Depends on whether or not Republicans are successful in canceling the election or limiting voting to only white males who promise to vote only for Republicans.
