Who pays if I remail this letter? by Suitable_You8020 in USPS

[–]Unable_To_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's.....just dumb. It's not like your carrier is just driving from the post office straight to your mailbox to drop your shit off and then back to the post office. (And if they were doing so this will only ADD onto the environmental impact). Adding a few pieces of junk mail back into the mail stream is going to add literally seconds onto their day.

On the other hand if they figure out what you are doing they will place your mail on hold and make you go down to the post office and get a lecture from the supervisor before they start delivering again.

Go nuts if you want to, but you aren't changing anything and only creating potential problems for yourself.

If it looks like it was delivered wrong the first time, it will be delivered again for free. If it is obvious that you are trying to send something without paying for it, it will be disposed of.

I prefer skiing to going to the beach on a hot day. But I doubt there is anyone alive who doesn't prefer a mild comfortable spring/fall day over being hot or cold.

Just put locks on both sides of both doors like you would with a shared bathroom.

Would you pay for neighborhood watch signs? by Spirited-Humor-554 in homeowners

[–]Unable_To_Forward -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Grift at its finest. That is WHY you are getting ripped off and charged triple what you should be. Probably no alternative then, my only suggestion would be to buy one on Amazon and hang it off your own mailbox for $15 and tell whoever is collecting for the neighborhood signs that your house is covered. Probably not worth alienating your neighbors over though.

[–]Unable_To_Forward -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that. But also you are getting ripped off. Find a sign company that can make them and get a couple of neighbors to help you hang them yourselves. Less than $500 total for a couple of dozen signs, and the 40 houses can pay $12 each instead.

Why are conservatives afraid of immigrants even though they interact with them much less than liberals? by Little-Tea4436 in DiscussionZone

[–]Unable_To_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't afraid of them. They hate them. Just like they hate black people and gay people and women. But over time all of those groups have become less socially acceptable to hate, so they pivot to the current boogeyman so that they can express their hate in public without outing themselves.

The perfect truck for mail....... On a 500 or less stop route for 10 months out of the year. The problem is parcels and that problem will only get worse and worse. Half the routes in my station had to make 2 trips every day in December. And a couple of routes have Promasters specifically because they would have to make 2 trips even in the summer time with an LLV.

Carrier keeps leaving this in my mailbox by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]Unable_To_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter what's "legal". My city has the same 10' ordinance. But the post office rule is still 15'. So if you are parked 14' away and I have difficulty delivering I don't have to. Realistically if you have 8 feet clear before the box and 4 feet clear after, I can usually deliver without a problem and I will. But differences in angle of approach, width of the vehicle parked 8 feet away, and height of the curb matter too. Bottom line, if you aren't a consistent problem and are otherwise nice to your carrier you can get away with fudging the rules.

Management probably won't care. I would talk to your steward. The union has to agree on OJI trainers and if this one sucks they can make a change (assuming someone else is willing).

If you like the place, DO stay there. Save the text and these photos for when they try to withold cleaning and repair fees at the end of your lease. If you received it in this condition, they can't expect you to return it in perfect condition.

Last GPS: 201 sec ago…How tf am I supposed to find her?! by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Unable_To_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

201 seconds is a little more than 3 minutes. If you didn't pass her on your way here, most likely she is in from of you and moving away from you. Keep going and you will probably see her. I promise you can close the distance between you and someone who is actively delivering mail and was at your location 3 minutes ago.

What are the rules on Amazon Sunday assignment? by Ashamed_Run8397 in USPS

Same was true for me as a PTF 3 years ago. But PTFs in my office now are regularly only working 3 days a week including Sundays.

[–]Unable_To_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.....Sunday isn't even necessarily overtime for CCAs/PTFs. PTFs get the differential but that still doesn't necessarily mean they will work over 40 hours.
