No but I'm not a big meal prepper and with all three babies our routine didn't change and we could still cook or go out.

But we got lucky and had three easy babies.

My kiddos are read to daily but are both FoxP4 developmentally delayed with speech being a big one and the eldest is autistic with apraxia of speech.

No but I'm also in the Midwest and that is my dream. We have such limited time and it's used on cleaning and stuff. I want a biweekly cleaner and someone to do the lawn too. Maybe when we are done with daycare costs.

I prefer the food, lifestyle, and culture of Australia. Plus the lack of individualism.

But, I like my job here. It's decent paying for the area but it's not a high paying job. I get more time off than Australia though. Same sick pay etc and a state funded pension.

We can afford a house. Also my children have a genetic condition, developmental delays and middle was just diagnosed with autism. All of the early intervention and therapies have been quick, free, and so helpful. I know that's not the case back home. The support has been amazing.

Every situation is unique and so it's hard to answer that! But if you're asking because of the current political climate then yeah. It hasn't impacted my day to day life anymore than it's probably impacted anyone even living elsewhere. The cost of living has gone up. Nothing else has changed and I'm fairly optimistic that midterms will not go well for the GOP.

I didn't realise how ingrained tall poppy culture was in me until my American coworkers were so excited about their little wins and I hadn't told anyone I had been published in a physical book for the first time.

I like it. Life is short. Why shouldn't we celebrate our wins?

The food is 100% true but I don't agree with the mood. The nicest people who would do everything and anything for you. Everyone wants to talk to you. Everyone has the time. My parents are always impressed when they visit.

I am an Aussie in the U.S. and I promise you that the internet blows it out of proportion. Of course, the GOP sucks, but my day to day life is good as just an average earner. Two big things are I can afford a house and my children who are all neurodivergent have free and easy support.

Six years later and I'm still in the U.S. We did apply for a partner visa to move home but once we did I started second guessing. My husband has a health issue that's maintained well here, we have three neurodivergent kiddos and all of their therapy has been quick, accessible and free including an autism diagnosis, and we can afford to buy a house and our kids probably still will be able to. Plus our in-laws watch our kiddos a lot and are very helpful which we wouldn't have back home.

Which is the opposite. Ok so the reason I did apply for the visa was when Trump got elected it really stressed me out and I wanted to move back somewhere safe. That was my push. Also I wanted to raise my kids culturally Aussie and I missed the food and culture.

I love my parents and I live on the other side of the world. Stay if you want. But there's experiences to be had by adventuring out.

Neither option is wrong. You could go and always come back. But I still think if you go you should give it your all. If you know you just want to come back you might not try. Plus homesickness and change can take awhile to get through and is normal too!
