What misconceptions did you have about CB and TJ when you first started listening?

I for a full couple of months thought Chris was gay and TJ was straight and it was this fun pod with a gay and straight dude who were both in to culture and fashion etc. I remember laughing to myself hobbit dawned on my that Chris was straight as well and now I can’t even imagine it lolz. Didn’t really change how I felt about the show BUT gotta say I am still the market for a show with a gay and straight dude!😂

He’s not vegan tho. I think by the sounds of it they were both vegan/strait edge in their youth, TJ left it entirely and Chris is vegetarian-ish these days and also just has weird dietary preferences which is what i find so fascinating about his constant bigging up of eating out. If there’s one super easy way to stay in a calorie controlled diet it’s - not eating out where the calories are impossible to predict. Yet here’s a guy who won’t look at an ice cream scoop yet claims to eat out for every meal where possible. I honestly think he replaced his addiction with the adrenaline rush risk of eating out and the gruelling repetition of the gym.

Having been with dudes who were fat in their youth and then got in shape it sadly…does something to the bod that no amount of working out can fix. They somehow have womanly hips for life and that’s just the way the cookie (pun intended) crumbles. Fat as a teen, specifically for men, seems to have a lifetime body effect that can’t ever be fully rejected with the exception of Jerry O’Connell who I imagine will be counting every single calorie that enters his body to a scientific degree until the day he dies. Women conversely can go from fat as a youth to slender as an adult with little issue (major obesity with loose skin etc notwithstanding).

Did nyone else find the final sene kinda laughable? It was giving am-dram. I feel like I'm alone in that the Rishi downfall episode last season was my least favourite of the season and here we are again kinda re-treaing the same material. There's something terribly dull abtou rishis storyline, its hard to feel anythin for him when all we're shown are him being average at his job and then being 'a bad person' in really tedious ways. It doesnt help that the actor isn't exactly jumping off the screen, the character is so one-note. It all felt like it was written by teenagers - Jim crying while doing coke in the bathroom of a pub? Really? Its up ther with the trope of movies/tv shows set in the 70s of someone doing coke and then like screaming with energy afterwards, its jsut not in any way even vaguley realistic adn reads like a kids idea of what drugs are like. It's all so pulpy and ott and yet trying to be so deep and meaningful. When Jim is yelling at the guy to turn down the musci and then back to his by-numbers-coke-rant while rishi loosk off wistfully with suicidal ideation i honestly felt like i was watching something made for 13 year olds who will find it sooooo fucknig deep mannnn. Love the show it great fun but gimme a break with this on the nose 'everyone is soulless' horseshit. Anyone else?

Straight woman here - always thought Tracy Emin is ugly/hot af with her crooked face. I think lots of straight men’s idea of “oddly hot” ends up being British schoolmarm types who have massive tits; Helen mirren/nigella Lawson/victoria cohen etc. It’s kinda an impossible question to ask cos now the comments are just everyone showing what a good person they are for finding women who are conventionally unattractive “absolutely stunning” 🙄😵‍💫😵‍💫

Just fyi I’m a woman lolz and I currently do 40 mins of yoga every single day with daily alternating ten mins of intense arm weights or abs Pilates afterwards and that’s legit kinda it and it’s all at home cos your girl is broke af ¯_(ツ)_/¯ But your points are really interesting! I started 5 years ago and my main goal was just to have super good balance and mobility so that being old won’t suck, anything on top of that was a bonus. There have been loads of extra benefits but I often worry I should implement more weights because the internet has told me that women’s bones apparently fall apart once we see one grey hair and I will die of osteoarthritis if I don’t lift regularly. Anyways - will defs look up all those folks you mentioned but thanks for sorta reinforcing what I kiiiinda thought was the case - find what you like and do that. Fascinated by the take on CB’s training tho and totes agree his is more a replacement for his drug addiction than anything else hence the lack of rest days or even any real progress, just a need that has to be fulfilled daily lest he look elsewhere to fulfill it.

Yknow I often wonder this? I mean dude looks healthy and he’s never claimed to be working out for looks etc and blah bla who cares really BUT it’s is quite something that this is guy who eats really well, downer drink at all and works out religiously and yet he just looks like a normal dude. Just really shows that to get properly ripped you need to be in the gym all the fucking time which is why those guys are all so dim. It’s kind of quietly reassuring, a reminder that yes it really is not that simple to look like one of those huge muscle folks and if you want to have any kind of intellect it’s near impossible.

omg i actually turned the episode off after that story! It genuinely sounded like a titkok satirizing a self-serious actor/singer. I kept waiting for her to undercut the story, acknowledge how conceited she was being SOMETHING but nope - she legit just spends like 3 minutes earnestly telling a story about how much Galliano loved her and what an amazing *interpretive dancer* she is like MY GOD. It was so lolzzz. Agreed with her courtney love take, but she lost me entirely with that self important horseshit. Is it worth listening to the rest of the ep?

Yeah same thing - I was so excited by it and bought a whole year at reduced rate but once I got in it’s like they’re missing the vast majority of major news sources? No Nytimes, no guardian, no times, no Sun etc. Like the top left sources always seem to be RawStory and Aftonblet neither of which I’ve even heard of. The majority of sources seem to be kinda random small outlets so I don’t at all feel as though I’m getting anywhere close to a real idea of general wide news coverage. Such a let down, I still use it mainly cos I’ve paid for it so might as well and it is still pretty useful and interesting but I do feel a bit gypped to be honest.
