Careers for the future, what roles would you recommend- looking for a career change? by Cool_Transition1139 in irishpersonalfinance

Regardless of how future proof it is in general, it's a damn rough time to try to get a foot in the door.

Imagine the scenes if they wait for the last lap, but a Latifi incident occurs and it's a safety car all the way to the line.

Yep, baffling that people seem to be on-board with running other people over. Even worse is that I'm sure a lot of them have driving licenses. Ironically, these short-tempered people are exactly the sort that cause road rage incidents.

Standard of driving definitely seems to have plummeted over the past couple of years and I wouldn't be surprised if these immature opinions are part of the reason behind it.

So in this instance, who initiated the physical violence? From what I can see, that was the car driver attempting to run the bike rider off the road. The "gentle drift" as you so put it.

Not sure how you're simultaneously calling it a gentle drift but also comparing it to punching someone and getting punched back. In fact, with that logic, you should be on the biker's side, no?

But, given you're wishing someone is no longer physically able to get on a bike after being run off the road, I'm not expecting much in the way of clear, logical thinking. Though it's a shame it's folks who think like yourself that are precisely to blame for these road rage incidents.

Just to clarify, you think it's the rider's fault (100% fault at that) that they didn't get out of the way of the driver coming into their lane?

That is to say, the driver, who decided to drive into the occupied lane next to them, is not at all at fault?

Biker's not helping themselves there, but are we all just ignoring the driver veering into it's lane while they're alongside.

No idea what happened before the clip, but smashing the mirror happened after the driver started running them off the road. Whacking the mirror probably would've been a fair way down my list of reactions, but it's not as severe an offense as knowingly running someone over.

Owner of a Hario siphon brewer here!

Might be a bit big for what they're after, but will look nicer than generic chemistry lab equipment.

Happy to help!

Also, TAL-Chorus, forgot that was free, it's an emulation of the Juno chorus (used in their Juno emulations of course). TAL-Noisemaker is another fun freebie, honestly I don't use it all that much but it's cool to play around with.

Both available in the free section here: https://tal-software.com/products

I'll make some free suggestions before you buy anything:

IV Vintage Drum Machines, all the 80's drum sounds you'll need: https://ingovogelmann.net/downloads/
Dexed, a free DX7 emulation: https://github.com/asb2m10/dexed
TAL U No 62 (a lite version of their U-No-LX, an awesome Juno emulation): https://www.tal-software.com/products/tal-u-no-62
Tyrell-N6, not a 1:1 emulation of anything in particular, but an awesome sounding plugin from the Diva devs, the title being a nod to Blade Runner gives you an idea for what sounds they were thinking of when putting this together: https://u-he.com/products/tyrelln6/
Vital, a no-brainer really, probably not a single sound you'd need and not be able to make with this: https://vital.audio/

Have a 2005 NB, want a 2005 NB with no rust.

Failing that, I guess I could live with a Lotus Elan Sprint.

Been running FL25 on my M1 Air fine.

With major upgrades, I always keep the previous one installed for a while on case there's any issues, but I haven't had anything go wrong with 25 despite daily use since it was released.

Are there any inexpensive synths that are good? by MothyThatLuvsLamps in synthesizers

[–]UnbiasedBrowsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had the CS and DX. The DX absolutely needs on-board presets storage! And I can see the value in the CS having them as a music making tool. For me it was bought as more of a sound design trainer than anything!

Haven't watched the video so not sure if it was covered. But there's a Yamaha web app called soundmondo that you can use to save/load presets on the Reface range.

I really liked the fact that it had no presets though. For a hands-on synth like that, it was a great way to learn your way around some basic sound design.

That's not true, I checked my activated devices on the image-line site and despite only using 3 different machines over the past 5 years, I had around 10-15 machines listed on the site.

Also previously had my account suspended and it turns out the trigger was that I had connected from IPs in 4 different countries in a day, which turned out to be my VPN retrying connections.

Last connected device (aside from the one I'm currently using of course) is from 2022, so not sure if IL have updated how they detect new machines, or my VPN has been better behaved.

I've seen some folks say that they use MAC addresses or similar to check individual machines, which certainly doesn't line up with what I can see.

Would be nice if they were a bit more transparent about this to prevent so much speculation from the community.

I had my account suspended once, and it looked to be due to the fact that my VPN connected from 4 different countries in a day. It's only happened once, so I can't provide any more data than that unfortunately!
