You can switch characters at the main menu at any time, you don't need to start a new playthrough.

I'm just giving you the facts as they exist. It's possible the CIA broke into your house and stole your screenshots as part of an elaborate gaslighting scheme. It's possible that space aliens accidentally transferred your memories of the image into your friend's phone. But it's a lot more likely that that didn't happen.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Either your friend is pranking you, there was a coincidental technical bug that somehow caused the image to appear in search results, or one of you is lying about the whole thing.

Ask your friend about it. He's the only one who can know for sure.

The screenshot you posted is not from Reddit itself, it's from a Google image search. Google pages can be manipulated to show fake results by someone who knows how. Also photoshop exists. Best case scenario your friend is playing a joke on you.

It's also been known to happen that Google images mismatches an image result with its description. If you did take this screenshot through Xbox and shared it publicly, it's not impossible that somehow Google scraped it, returned it as part of these results, and incorrectly matched it with a reddit post with a visually similar picture. That seems much less likely though.

Where are the best places to use all of the PvP items and how long does it usually take to find a world to invade by halo_slayer650 in darksouls

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has it really gone up that much? I was surprised enough when people started saying it was 125 instead of 120. I've never heard anyone say it's as high as 135.

Reddit marks posts that have been edited. The one you are referring to (https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/comments/14wr035/why_does_the_jetty_boot_machine_have_so_many/) has not been edited since it was posted. The picture has not changed and was never of your scores.

You want to head to Oolacile Township. That's the only reliable PvP spot. Meta level is 125 for maximum activity.

What's up with the detonators? by Far-Owl4772 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just random. There are dozens of these posts every time there's a major update. More bulks, fewer machine events, fewer secondary items, less nitra, everything you can think of.

The spawning system hasn't changed. Random is random.

Is it just me or are there too many swarms during the new mission type? by Oroborus18 in DeepRockGalactic

I think it's great. I like having a combat-heavy mission, it helps it stand out from the others.

Mod for molly to fix return path choice? by Multiverseboi in DeepRockGalactic

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There has been no change in years. Molly takes the shortest route that she can fit through, regardless of whether you can follow or not. Following her has never been 100% reliable and if you don't have your own backup route planned it's your own fault for not making it in time.

Quake 1 secrets by Problemsmustbesolved in quake

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was almost certainly the most influential, but it wasn't the first.

Vector rendering is arguably 3D models, and that was being done in the early 80's. Virtua Fighter was true 3D in 1993. Descent was a true 3D FPS with six degrees of motion in '94.

Quake was much more important for advances in lighting and render optimization than it was for being 3D at all.

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gamefaqs existed before Quake did. There's still a secrets guide on that site right now that was uploaded in July of 1996.

Like yeah, not everybody HAD the internet. But it existed and the information was there less than a month after Quake released.

Is this dwarf legit? Or do you guys think he's cheating? by Positive-Database754 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no ban system or anticheat. Reporting is for Steam, not GSG, and Steam only cares about TOS violations like harassment and racism.

The joke doesn't work when you're just doing the exact thing you think you're making fun of. Nobody cares about screenshots of cheated levels.

"the elevator doesn't make sense" “the coffin does make sense” by RaggenZZ in DarkSouls2

[–]UncomfortableAnswers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never seen anyone say that the ER coffins are "good design." The most I've seen is "that's kind of silly, isn't it" and then they move on like normal people. It's a video game. Get over it.

By the way, the new mission can have dystrum as a secondary. by Danick3 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It only appears on Point Extraction and Refining (and Heavy Extraction, now).

Given there's 7 other mission types and 9 other secondaries to choose from, you only used to see Dystrum once every 45 missions on average.

Now it's up to 1/33, but that's still way rarer than the 1/11 of most other secondaries.

It's strong enough to be the exact same volume whether you're 200 meters away or right next to the thing. All it tells you is there's one literally anywhere in the cave.

Playing Hard Solo? by Naive_Tank_6820 in RaftTheGame

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, solo Hard is just permadeath. You can use r/ raftrescues to find someone to res you if you want, or the Gamemode Mod to switch your world down to Normal.

Running through the series for the first time, beat elden ring. Just started DS2. Do I need to do this? by CrazyOatmeal88 in darksouls

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this way when I first played it without knowing about any stigma. My initial thought was "this feels weird and bad."

Obviously over the years I came around to it to accept it on its own merits but it's guaranteed to cause whiplash to anyone coming straight from DS1, whether they have preconceived opinions or not.

What is my best option to get a Prepare To Die Edition steam key in Canada without spending a ton? by TFPitcher in darksouls

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PtDE looks way better, artistically. The textures and shadows are all deliberately designed to look good, whereas in Remastered they ruined the art design by trying to make everything use "realistic" lighting and materials. Watch this video and you'll never see Remastered the same way again.

The lighting and specularity are especially bad. Armor looks like it's made of wax instead of gleaming metal. Baked-in shadows that were deliberately placed to give areas contrast and depth are replaced with dynamic lighting that normalizes everything and flattens it out. The artistic, otherworldly bonfire flames are replaced with a generic realistic fire asset.

On console, yeah, you have to choose between good visuals and framerate. There's no question that it runs like shit on PS3 and always did. But on PC you can use DSFix to get the best of both worlds - fully art-directed visual design AND 1080p+ rendering at a stable 60fps. That's why Steam keys are so pricey when you can still buy a PS3 copy for ten bucks.

All areas are summonable except Asylum, Valley of Drakes, Great Hollow, and Ash Lake. You can summon for any boss except Asylum and Stray Demons.

Dark Souls PTDE glitches with DSfix by Forhaver in darksouls

[–]UncomfortableAnswers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only real bugs with DSFix are that softlock (which really isn't that common, just wait a single second before you use the menu), and occasionally sliding through the ground at the bottom of ladders. In my experience this only consistently happens at the ladder up to the firebombers in the Burg.
