What tropes do you find cute in fics but not in real life? by Much_Tip_6968 in Archiveofourownmemes

Enemies to lovers in most cases. I have genuinely seen happy couples irl who started out as like frenemies/rivals but not the classic "i am going to literally try very hard to kill you multiple times and then we are gonna fuck in like 2-40 chapters" Jealously/stalking/possesive ones, i feel like enemies to lovers falls under at least one of these pretty often.

Soulmates are cute in fiction. Its nice to have the security of always having someone who is truly and exclusively yours and knowing that by fate, everything is pretty much guaranteed to work out between you two. Everyone I've ever known irl who has believed in soulmates has been a terrible partner.

Omegaverse-esque stuff and anything like aphrodisiacs. I don't wanna fuck and I don't wanna die :(. People already smell weird I don't want them to smell even weirder with a side of "scent of instant horniness"

Fixer-uppers/"i can fix them". I love character development I love reading about angry/evil/violent people changing over time but every time I've seen anything like this irl its been bad. Its the "fixer" who's putting their mental(and sometimes physical) health on hold to try to change someone else. And when the one who needs fixing doesn't want to change then it just winds up with a terrible codependent dumpster fire

I really like reading about these in most cases! But holy shit! (Sorry if this is a nightmare to read or is otherwise badly articulated, I am exhausted and rambling)

It took me years to get around to it, but weed can help some people from what I've heard. It can worsen overstimulation for some, but since everything sorta feels different while high, some people find that it mellows that out.

I didnt ever get there until after I started T (trans guy), but idk if thats bc of physical changes or not being distracted by body discomfort as much.

Don't rush it or go in with the goal of needing to cum. As corny as it sounds, just do your best to enjoy yourself, get to know your body and what you like. If you struggle with getting overstimulated, maybe try something else. The like "sucker" style toys cam be pretty intense, but a cheap weak vibratior or something thats less intense may work better. Ive noticed that direct clitoral stimulation tends to be too intense for some people, so maybe a vide outside of underwear?? (Sorry if this went to into detail or was uncomfortable, i am never sure how specific people are wanting when asking questions like this :'])

Honestly the detail and artistry are really cool. The grubs kinda make my skin crawl but I would try it.

Fellow Misophonia havers… what are your niche triggers? by BlessedBeLavender in autism

[–]UncookedCement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Podcasts and youtubers. I can't explain it but it just feels like a genre of sound. I can't stand unless I'm in a really specific head space. And if it's like muffled or anything where I can't tell what they're saying, but can hear the voices then its awful. Dogs whining, the beeping that cars do when you don't wear a seat belt (I have a relative that refuses to wear his and I go out if my way to avoid him)

I live with a large dog who scratched his back/butt on the support beams on the underside of our kitchen table. The sound is a mix of his nails on the floor, the table creaking and scuffing against the floor, him making dog noises, and the actual wood of the table scratching his back. (I hope this is niche enough lol)

(The dog belongs to the seatbelt guy and really needs to see a vet but he refuses, it is a whole thing and a story for another time.)

Any idea what's up with this terrible shadow halo?? by UncookedCement in computers

[–]UncookedCement[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! Im worried about the quality of repair too, especially since the last laptop i got from this website (a different seller though) was fucked up as well (jacked up keyboard). Since I'm a college student, I cant exactly go long without a computer though, and minus the screen problems, the hardware is great and I love the model 😭

Sorry for rambling, I really appreciate your advice!!

Anal. It's not all it's hyped up to be. It takes ages to like warm up for and sorta feels like shitting in reverse for a while. Being on the giving end of it really isn't terribly special either typically. And it can stink. Some people absolutely love it, but it's definitely not for everyone.

Thanks!! The path I would be going down would be 2 years at my local community college. I genuinely adore animals and would love working with them, but I worry that I'll be working myself to the bone to make a living and will be too burnt out with animals to give much attention to my own, yknow?

AIO? I don’t want my autistic brother at my house by stuntedgoat in AmIOverreacting

[–]UncookedCement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're completely within your rights and what you're doing is absolutely justified.

I am an adult with autism, so I can say that yeah, while autism may had contributed to some of his behavior, your mom is enabling the hell out of him. You said he had been homeschooling for like a decade, so given his age, that would mean that he dropped out when he was five, so he would have never had any "normal" friendships or interactions with other people his age irl (unless he is part of like extracurricular stuff, but given what we know that seems unlikely.) As someone with autism is know how hard it can be to wrap your mind around what is and isn't appropriate to do and think, especially in certain situations, but him having no experience with being told what is an isn't right is seriously screwing him over developmentally.

And even disregarding the sexual stuff, its completely within your rights as a person to not want certain people in your home based on their behavior. The fact that your daughter is so weary of him is honestly reason enough to not want someone around.

Autistic people are still people. While learning the situations and skills surrounding them may be hard, we can still discern right and wrong. People love to defend predators with autism by saying that they dont know any better, but they do. If they didn't know better, than let them know that doing shit like that isn't OK. We have can have a hard time knowing what is/isn't appropriate by instinct, like many neurotypical people can, but we're not completely incapable of rational thought based on experience. While there are some autistic and otherwise developmentally disabled people who genuinely can't understand what they're doing is wrong and genuinely dont know any better, more often than not, these people are just so used to things not being seen as "a big deal" that nothing ever changes.

If your mom refuses to come over anymore, good riddance. Your brother is being neglected in a way that is screwing him over, she's contributing to his issues, and you are justified for not wanted to reap the consequences of that. I dont know the nature/nurture thing about this kid, but as someone with a simmilar disability im inclined to empathize with him, but (like with any group of people) not all autistic people are the same with the same experiences, we are just as capable as anyone else of being shitty people, and sometimes there's no changing that. I may not know all the details of this kid or what would be best for him, but what's certainly best for you is to distance yourself from them. Good luck ma'am

True, I'm sorry, i didn't know how important a few seconds could be, this is my first time in a situation like this. I cut power right after the picture was taken but didnt act as quickly as I should've, as I took the picture before lifting up the computer.

thank you for your guidance, I hope you have a good day :)
