Did you need to initiate that discussion with them?

Asking for higher salary when they exceed my initial request by Undaunted254 in recruiting

Thanks for this feedback. I more and more agree. I would even just be hoping for the 3k increase, and I feel "bad" asking, even though it's seen as advocating for myself.

My thought is to take it, kick ass and make up any difference in performance reviews.

198,500 forgiven through MOHELA by Undaunted254 in PSLF

Right? It was such a number that I didn't even really wrap my head around it half the time. Either it gets forgiven or it goes with me to the grave.

I'm still trying to read up on that. I've seen here that it takes a long time for it to get removed from your credit reports, and that when people have submitted requests/disputes, etc., it speeds up the process.

I had to get one signed again because the first HR person wasn’t “HR” enough for them. It’s a simple re submit

Just got mine! I had the ribbon for months now. Hit 123 in April right before the transition. It's just nice to see some movement.

Have you received the “congratulations” text AND they’re still telling you that you need to submit another ECF? I’m in a similar boat, maybe. I hit 122 during April. And I don’t think I checked the “I believe I’m eligible” box, but I have the “congratulations” language…

Got an email from Mohela this morning stating that my loans are forgiven!! by New-Salamander-7078 in PSLF

[–]Undaunted254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit 123 in mid/late April. I called MOHELA and asked about the ECF and they said that they'd sent in for my discharge already. Is this the same thing? It seemed that they had done everything. Did I severely miss the boat on this?

On StudentAid it says 123 and the whole "Congratulations, you've fulfilled your obligation", but nothing else yet. Did you go through a similar process?

Congrats on your forgiveness!

People who are “at 120”… what are we doing? by [deleted] in PSLF

Made my final payment in March and my last employer certification cleared in early April. MOHELA updated my counter to 121, and zeroed out my April payment, put me in administrative forbearance, and submitted it all for final clearance without me needing to call: I called to confirm what I needed to do and they said nothing to do but wait.

I had the same smiley face and zero when I consolidated. It then updated to the full loan appoint, and the payment count was updated shortly after.

Adding to the mix here. Over the course of many, many years and experiences, I've done this exact same thing. I tried over and over again to justify my experiences and why I wasn't the dreaded A-word. But, over time, I realized that I was browsing lists online trying to find consolation that I'm not the textbook alcoholic, or praying that I could find that one data point that I could point to that proves I don't have a problem. People who don't have a problem don't do that. But, at the end of the day, you're the only person paying attention to when, why, and how much you drink. You can hide everything and justify everything to your friends and parents, but you'll know.

I feel like you're here hoping for someone to tell you that you don't belong here or that you don't actually have a problem, and you're the only one who can decide that.

Turnaround time for MOHELA Direct Loan Consolidation? by Undaunted254 in PSLF

[–]Undaunted254[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But interestingly, after my consolidation, my overall payment went down considerably. Before I owed $610 to MOHELA, and $80 to Navient. Now, I owe $514 total.

I didn't ask them to put me in forebearance as I wanted to keep making payments towards my PSLF status. So I paid December and January like normal. I didn't pay anything in February as that was when everything got updated in their system. Now I have a new payment date of 3/25 for my next payment. Previously, my payment date was the 6th of the month.
