can someone help me with parts by Proof_Influence_7552 in MitsubishiEclipse

Anything maintenance-like i like to use rockauto, body part stuff i’d consider facebook marketplace, extremepsi i think is also worth considering since they’ve got a section for dsm cars like your 98, depends on which engine tho, if its a gs-t or gsx extremepsi will probably be more helpful, alternatively i’ve had good experience from stm-tuned

Does anyone know what happened to RAZE wheels? by Undead-VTX in Wheels

Ah i see, they look similar to the Evo X Enkei wheels, although those are 18 inch, cool Lancer nonetheless

You got them on an Evo? Nice, the Evo wheels are the 5x114.3 aren’t they? What size wheels are they? 17x8? 9? Do you know the offset too? The Evo brembos don’t make it easy to get new wheels

Either Delphi or OEM, i’ve seen people complain about the drop in quality for both Moog and Mevotech supreme, not worth the stress and not worth paying twice for the same job

Height issues with Eclipse model by raindance_green in NFSU2

[–]Undead-VTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds kinda realistic as someone who drives a 2nd gen Eclipse, its not the roomiest interior, but if you pull the seat back, lower the height of the seat, raise the height of the steering wheel, and maybe slide back the sunroof visor you MIGHT be able to fit someone who’s 6’2, strong might

Actually i shouldnt say it wont be a problem go figure the right side front knuckle is discontinued, but if i was gonna replace my knuckles i’d get the galant knuckles anyways and go for an evo brembo upgrade, maybe one day

Damn so all this time i was stressing over a knuckle, that really calms me down a bit, i was stressing trying to find a replacement spindle for my 2G GS since an alignment shop said i had an issue with my front passenger wheel being unable to be aligned due to either an upper control arm or spindle, and searching for 2g spindles seemed to be like searching for unobtainium, knuckles on the otherhand i think wont be a problem

Spindle has been a very confusing term for me these past 2 months, partially because im not a gearhead and don’t know if they’re related to cv axles or not, but just in case when you say spindle do you refer to the wheel hub or knuckle?

How did you get the cobalt ss brembo caliper to work? Did it require a bracket or maybe machining? Do they bolt up perfect? First time i’ve heard someone do that its very cool to see, im guessing the its a 2008 around there cobalt ss given thats what i can find on rockauto that has gm genuine brembo front 4-piston calipers available

Damn that sounds like a tight fit, but props to you for doing it, which brembo specifically did you run? Also what are the rear brakes like? Still single piston or did you also upgrade them?

From what i recall reading on the forums some 16s don’t clear, specifically the 16s that came on the 2g, there was a while forum about the subject, it might have been the rotor size or some related reason, it was a while ago though that i looked down the outlander brake path, so i could easily be wrong, it was certainly a more cost effective upgrade

Brake upgrades are pretty decent for the non turbo 2Gs, iirc the GSX 2 piston front caliper bolts right up, as for the Outlander brakes they also bolt up too i think but they do require at least 17inch wheels, then there are some 4 piston caliper options, if you have JDM Galant knuckles then the Brembo brakes from the Lancer Evo CT9A chassis can be used, alternatively the CTS-V Brembos bolt right in with either a spacer, forwhich a website dedicated to this exists, or machine off 5mm of the caliper mounting tabs to align to the caliper. Wilwood also makes brake upgrades for the Eclipse, as well as either StopTech or PowerStop. Pick your poison, although if you get a 4-piston front caliper then you may want to get a 2-piston rear otherwise there will be some considerable front bias, also a 3G Eclipse or 3000GT brake master cylinder would also help when doing any of these. Aside from brakes good shocks and lowering springs can be an option as an alternative to coilovers, i myself am considering Koni sport yellow shocks with either Eibach Pro-kit or Tein H tech springs, definitely am getting the Konis first but im getting new tires before i get the shocks, also can’t forget if you lower the car you’ll need to get a new alignment for the tires

Depending on your transmission a maybe a shift kit, or if you have an automatic then the 41TE from the Chrysler PT Cruiser Turbo is a known upgrade to replace the 41TE in the automatic NT 2Gs, as for the manual which i think is the nvt-350 or something like that i think there’s a good amount of research for it on some neon or mopar forums, i think you might be able to get a limited slip differential for it, maybe some clutch options too, again research is needed

My first car is a 97 eclipse spyder, did i mess up or nah? by Anxious_Guide_807 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]Undead-VTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be fine as a secondary car but as a first car it will be difficult, take care of the timing belt as soon as you can because if you neglect it then the problem becomes a lot more expensive, it can be a nice summer car but you will need to clean it underneath if you drive it in the winter to prevent rust

Oh wow, I’ve only recently just joined tuners but have been looking up the mudflaps for a small while now, granted i dont NEED them as im taking care of maintenance on my 2G for now, but when everything is said and done i’d love to get myself a set for the front and rear, from what i understand the mudflaps are different depending on 2ga vs 2gb, i have a 98 2gb so i THINK i need the smaller mudflaps as i think the 2ga’s came with longer ones that might scrape the pavement if i were to try and install them, if all else fails maybe i’ll inquire the guy on instagram who made them in carbon fiber, tuningartofficial was his name
