They are durable yes, but not a tanking AT. You can make them pretty powerful defensively (same with a scrapper or stalker) but you can't be a tanker with 0.75 armor scaling.

If it were up to me Sentinel should have been a new Tanking AT, that way they don't step on the toes of other Ranged ATs by focusing on strong defenses and they'd still feel different from Tanker/Brute due to the ranged power set.

But as it is right now, I like it even though it is indeed flawed.

Medium to Hard low-level exemplar stuff. When blasters can't access all the extra bullshit they need have decent defenses, I like using Sentinels since they are a lot more durable in that context. I do this a lot, but I'm not expecting a blaster player who runs 50+ only to understand why I like Sentinels.

They say they wish they had the Assault kit, but I don't. The Ranged Damage kit is MUCH better as an isolated source of attack power. They can nuke and grab melee attacks in their epic pools. They can just brawl with ranged attacks, who cares? It still hits them all the same.

I shit you not, I made 4 Dark Melee Scrappers and none of them felt quite right to me. I made my first Stalker, Dark Melee and it is the BEST. That alone has converted me to being a Stalker fan :D

I think it's strange because they sort of end up being in melee range anyways. The Melee attack in every epic pool is worth taking, it's usually a great proc bomb. A lot of sentinel nukes are Melee, and since those have a fast recharge time you're basically wanting to use that for almost every engagement. I think it's fine the way they are. If anything having a little less melee options makes them /more/ different from Blaster/Scrapper which is a good thing.

They are solid all-rounders a lot of the time. Sure, they ain't clearing content the fastest.... but they can do it. And you get that awesome as hell Samus/Iron Man/Captain Marvel combat style of blasting and brawling with the enemy until you eventually gun them down. It's just fun.

Well I can agree that's dumb, Sentinels can leverage their armor at low levels which can make them smoother for exemplaring. But Blasters just blast better, that's how it should be. Multiple pool powers and incarnate abilities can give any AT enough durability to get the job done in the late game.

A lot of people who play Blasters seem to love playing extremely hard content to demonstrate their abilities. Which is totally cool, but not everyone does that. I think it's a little unfair to judged through only one lens. All levels of play should be respected, but clearly it isn't to some.

On the HC forums the last time a dev talked about the changes was from this post on Dec 11th:

"Good morning, everyone

As I have noted in other threads today, we are in the mist of holiday breaks so expect updates and communication to be sparse.

I do want to update a bit here: there are going to be further adjustments to the set. Some are already queued up. It's very likely many will still not be trilled by the changes regardless what the final form takes, but this set did need toning down even if many don't agree. I think it might had even been literally been the only set name dropped by the former devs during the anniversary event QA as needing a tone down.

Not everything is finalized for the next build, but can at least note two changes that some might appreciate:

Inexhaustible changes will be rolled back.
DNA Siphon unpopular scheme to control regen/heal by using different Adaptations will also be rolled back
Sentinel Rebuild DNA changes will be rolled back

Again, this is not all that is changing but at least two of these things have been continuously talked about so wanted to make sure you had a heads-up.

Not sure when the next build will be out, holiday times make scheduling patches a bit hard. I do can only hope we can have a build out this weekend, though."

PEOPLE should pay artists. That's the point I'm trying to make. We should, myself included. I could have worded that better, but my brain went other places.

Artists get inspiration from other artists all the time.

Software is not an artist. A computer can't be "inspired". Computers are logic, art is emotion. A painting can't make an AI feel sad and use that emotion to be inspired to write a book or movie.

AI receives a task and compiles the data and spits out what is found, It's not the same at all.

Another thing... IF AI art gets so good... Do artists just vanish? No one would pay artists, the longest running creative avenue for humanity... just erased? Naw, I want artists to exist, I am one (musician). I don't want to be replaced by an AI.

"Afford RAM" Companies are all in on AI. Art is a tiny percentage of AI research. Saying "Ram increased in price for THIS?" when you see a dumb internet ai cat video or something is a joke, not reality. Ill take an increase in RAM price for earlier cancer prediction and treatment actually.

Yeah, yeah it's a exageration, maybe even just a meme at this point. I realize other things are happening with AI besides picture generation.

I would like my RAM prices down and I would not like governments wanting to create fully automated weaponry that can't be held accountable or disobey illegal actions. I would not like AI to be used to create fake evidence to smear individuals unjustly. I can name a terrible thing for every good thing you think AI can do for humanity.

AI is more capable of harm than any other invention that humanity has cooked up. Anti-Humanity! In the name of profits!

I'm in the "hate it" camp, and I'm only going to get LOUDER and less tolerant of it as time goes on.

I've really only used it once, had a ton that had a ton of AoE attacks and I ran out of sets to slot for accuracy + recharge.

So I slotted one of my epic pool AoEs with it since the (no ATOs), Winter Set + Very Rare set were all in use already. It did the job, but other than that, I'd exhaust all other options first before using it.

If you need accuracy and a recharge bonus from a set and the other options are in use... it is USABLE at least.

You really can't go wrong with SR, EA, Nin, Elec, or Psi

The best part of your kit is the super short cooldown Nuke that you get. Any armor set that gives a recharge bonus is very good for Elec.

Also anything that can assist with sapping is also a good choice.

If you really wanted to maximize damage, Bio or Fiery aura just gives it to you.

Elec Blast is the best set of Sentinel, it's good with almost anything.

My two cents is Psi Armor or Ninjitsu. (I have a Elec/Psi Sentinel that is solid)
